Like I mentioned, a buck or maybe 2 off would still be a steal at this price. You did right buying in.
If you get Total under $50, grab that one too.
I've traded oils for 35 years (approx. 350 trades) and never lost money on one of them.
Wish I could say the same on techs.
I don't do techs. anymore.
Figured out I don't understand them.
Warren doesn't understand them either.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Explain yourself re: foolishness.
Maybe I'm a buck off but RD is the kind of company that you need in your porfolio.
Are you kidding me?
RD is the 4th largest company in the world and the 2nd largest energy company............they're into everything and have been around for more then 100 years. Huge dividend also.
Adding BG Group with their gas platform is a stellar move in my view.
Look, 3/4 of the posters on this board have no RD stock and you can find them on several other boards spewing the same garbage.
They desperately need attention since failures in life always seem to.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
I can't believe what I read on this board. Real amateurs. Why don't you guys get a real job instead of hanging out down in your parents basemant.
RDS is a powerhouse of an energy company..........the largest in Europe and maybe the 2nd largest in the world and you guys act like it's some start up company. And you expect instant grattification from a huge deal like this.
Here's my prediction: $100 in 2 years.
If you got something to say about this, this is the forum to do it.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Everyone has their own take on this.
One guy says: FTC killed the merger.
Another guy says it's a hoax, deal is on.
Still another says drop unjustified.
None of you know anything.
I suggest wait until the FTC makes an announcement and then we'll all know.
They now removed the albatross around their neck.
We should see $20 by the end of this week.
Won't buy it a cent over $80. 1500 shares @ $79.50 -75 will be my target.
Too many other opportunities (energy stocks) out there.
Stoxx has spoken...................
Shouldn't have sold BP My take............$57 when RD gets involved.
BP stock will rocket ahead next year when Royal Dutch Shell offers merger.
Remember both are British stocks and won't be the disaster that AZN & PFE became.
Brit stocks give you the full dividend.
Mainland European countries take 15% off the top and you get it back when you file your 1040
Tax loss selling is commencing as I write this.
Dividend will be severely trimmed to $.05-10 quarterly if not eliminated completely.
Industry might not rebound for 5-10 years due to on shelf and fracking.
I wouldn't want to own here.
You haven't made a dime on the share price. Oh sure, you've gotten chump change dividends and that's it.
What a waste of your hard earned money, my children.
Now your down again for another day. Ever since Bill Steere retired, Pfizer has brought in a bunch of useless CEO's who have been unable to grow shareholder equity.
What a waste of a once proud company.
Sorry folks, I had the wrong msg. board.
Pfizer was my target.
Go back 10 years and you'll see the price was just about the same as it is now.
Except for dividends, this has been a dead money stock for years.
I bought in July this year hoping for a tie-up with AZN and Read screwed that one up royally like he screwed up selling the consumer goods division to JNJ.
Go ahead, see what JNJ has done with that group.
I have no faith in Read's ability to get anything done for shareholders except for himself.
I think he should be replaced.
Nah, the Brits would never go for an foreign company to take out BP.
You saw how they reacted when Pfizer tried to buy Astra-Zeneca.
You know, tradition and all that.
Now, the Royal side of Royal Dutch Shell could be a different story.
737......Selling or keeping AZN is a personal decision on your part.
However, my opinion is that Pfizer is done with AZN.
In my previous statements here months ago I clearly stated Pfizer won't be back.
If your holding AZN for a Pfizer bid,my opinion is forget it.
If you like AZN the company itself, well then hold.
There is no withholding 15% tax on BP for US holders
France pulls that on TOT, Holland pulls that on RDS-B, Italy pulls that on E, but not the Brits.
But you get to take off the withholding tax from those countries on your 1040 tax form.
This guy is the wrong guy to lead this company.
The disaster with the Astra-Zeneca tie-up calls into question whether Read is a competent person to make any kind of a major deal.
My guess is a resounding NO.
