Brit stocks give you the full dividend.
Mainland European countries take 15% off the top and you get it back when you file your 1040
Tax loss selling is commencing as I write this.
Dividend will be severely trimmed to $.05-10 quarterly if not eliminated completely.
Industry might not rebound for 5-10 years due to on shelf and fracking.
I wouldn't want to own here.
You haven't made a dime on the share price. Oh sure, you've gotten chump change dividends and that's it.
What a waste of your hard earned money, my children.
Now your down again for another day. Ever since Bill Steere retired, Pfizer has brought in a bunch of useless CEO's who have been unable to grow shareholder equity.
What a waste of a once proud company.
Sorry folks, I had the wrong msg. board.
Pfizer was my target.
Go back 10 years and you'll see the price was just about the same as it is now.
Except for dividends, this has been a dead money stock for years.
I bought in July this year hoping for a tie-up with AZN and Read screwed that one up royally like he screwed up selling the consumer goods division to JNJ.
Go ahead, see what JNJ has done with that group.
I have no faith in Read's ability to get anything done for shareholders except for himself.
I think he should be replaced.
Nah, the Brits would never go for an foreign company to take out BP.
You saw how they reacted when Pfizer tried to buy Astra-Zeneca.
You know, tradition and all that.
Now, the Royal side of Royal Dutch Shell could be a different story.
737......Selling or keeping AZN is a personal decision on your part.
However, my opinion is that Pfizer is done with AZN.
In my previous statements here months ago I clearly stated Pfizer won't be back.
If your holding AZN for a Pfizer bid,my opinion is forget it.
If you like AZN the company itself, well then hold.
There is no withholding 15% tax on BP for US holders
France pulls that on TOT, Holland pulls that on RDS-B, Italy pulls that on E, but not the Brits.
But you get to take off the withholding tax from those countries on your 1040 tax form.
This guy is the wrong guy to lead this company.
The disaster with the Astra-Zeneca tie-up calls into question whether Read is a competent person to make any kind of a major deal.
My guess is a resounding NO.
What you said.......I agree with.
But the big problem for BP has always been with this judge and his unwilling to deviate from his hatred of BP.
I always felt there was more to this process between Barbier and BP then was put out there.
Yeah, I'm familar with DKL. Oil pipelines and all that.
FI now trading below $18.
Strong dollar killing all EU energy companies including FI.
TOT,E,BP,RAI,STO,SSL, RDS A-B and others all in the dumper.
If your DLK trade was mine, I'd walk away with the 30% profit.
Just my opinion.
Your CEO, that's why.
He was so paranoid about losing his job that he put himself over every other shareholder including you bozos.
Pfizer cuts loose top management from companies they acquire with a rich severance package that all others took.
But not your CEO.
He couldn't give up the power so now you'll see your stock head into the 60's.
I'll take comments............
It all hinges on the decision by the FTC.
If the FTC approves the merger, LO and RAI will get a nice price boost.
If not or there's some issue with menthol, that question I can't answer.
I would like to remind you that several of us including myself hold several thousand shares of both.
You'll make it back somewhere else.
He could care less about you shareholder bozos.
He knows PFE will cut him loose if a takeover ever would happen.
Soriat will pull out every stop including petitioning the Queen and Obama to keep his job.
Soriat cares about Soriat, not about any of you wishful thinkers.
From time to time each one of us will make a bad decision.
I've been doing this for 35 years and one thing I found out.
If it doesn't feel right, look right, take your loss and move on.
You'll make it up somewhere else.
If you keep buying losers, you're in the wrong business.
Another thing: I wouldn't put any IPO into an IRA.
Do you know anything about Pfizer's culture?
This is how it works over there.
Pfizer makes a bid that shareholders love.
Pfizer completes the transaction.
First thing Pfizer does is tell the CEO of that company he's no longer needed.
Every big company Pfizer aquired in the last 20 years came without the CEO.
Bill Steere 101.
That's what keeps Soriat up at night.
Remember months ago when I got out @ $28 and told you to sell. But you didn't. Well, how did that work out?
The problem: 75% of the company is owned by insiders.
I made 10 large here and was montoring your posts and told you to sell when I did.
I don't know what you paid for your shares, but if I were you I'd dump, suck up the loss and go somewhere else.
Hope you got gains to offset the loss.
