no, panels come in a varety of sizes. seens like 100 to 300 watts are fairly common sizes.
You can also look up silver use, which appears to be constantly declining.....might be better to calculate a range of use. On the plus side a large portion of that use should be coming back via recycling in 10-20 years (panel lifetime). lots of new technologies driving silver use per panel down.
I found this estimate from a July 2014 article in "pv-tec" "This may or may not seem like much, but in 2000, only 1 million ounces of silver were used in PV fabrication and by 2008 this had increased to 19 million and then increased again to 64.5 million ounces in 2013. By 2015, the market for silver use in PV fabrication is forecast to be 100 million ounces – roughly 10% of total silver demand. This growth rate will be sustained as long as the overall cost of solar generated electricity becomes increasingly competitive with fossil fuel-based sources."
Short term though...I agree it is a large demand. India is putting in many also.
I read that raising money for to influence politicans is not right (see many posts on the this board)...who is peddling influence in the oregon vote..."Oregon Right to Know campaign has raised nearly $1.3 million thanks in large part to national companies and advocacy groups"
national "companies" buying voters....is that OK ? I read posts on this board that such practices by the others is inherently wrong ?? Good for the goose, but not the gander ?
I like oregon :)
you kids must scare easily.....i am beginning to think conservatives are pant wetters based on the Sally like posts I see here.
Vermont didn't vote on it....the organic lobby peddled their influence to state politicans to get it signed (and exempt themselves) :)
just teasing the teasers who complain about agri business and gov't interactions.
It will be interesting to watch...next we can lobby the fda to label medicine that is produced by gmo methodes.
actually, there exists the chance that all the air molecules are only in one half the room, and you could not breathe....but some things are just not worth worrying about.
I am not worried about the possibliliy of illegals "taking over the country". Think about it...all the population of Central american "coming over" and taking the country over....I think I will worry more about the oxygen all being over on the other side of the room
oh, cripes....it is a facebook page thing.
I think 90K people agree with the Moms Against Vaccines facebook page too
not sure what that means....are they having a midnight candle thing ?
What order are they defying, and how are they defying it ?
good post...I like upspun information. Have a good weekend.
doesn't seem correct larry....I don't know of any countries that accept shinny metals as payment for goods and sevices. Which ones do you see ?
"Greenspan: How to unwind the huge increase in the size of its balance sheet with minimal impact. It is not going to be easy, and it is not obvious exactly how to do it.
MarketWatch: As the Fed is looking at the exit, do you think we can get through this without upsetting the economy?
Greenspan: I certainly hope so. I certainly think they will. But it is going to be difficult.
MarketWatch: Do you expect a sharp market reaction to the first hike?
Greenspan: Of course. Look what happened when the first indication of tapering occurred. Markets have always been sensitive. They reflect animal spirits."
"Greenspan, now the president of Greenspan Associates LLC, an economic consulting firm, spoke to MarketWatch about the current stance of Fed policy, the economy and what to do about asset bubbles. The economy will do all right in the near term, he said, buoyed by a strong equity market, but he added that he remains worried that we could be facing another false dawn"
So, what are you doing with investments ? I am diversifyijng so I don't have to try and time bubbles...call me lazy.
