The whole JE YMB is quiet. Thought there would be a lot more longs working the chatter box .... Glad I believed in buying right after the divy below 6.25 .... I think I hold these long term now.
Nope. Don't fight the trend.
However, the market is treating this stock like it's going bk and soon. Absurd. I mean seriously, MCP is a company that will go bk. It has 2x as many shares, negative EPS (big time) and no hope for the future. Three days ago it was the same price as ANV is now! Whutdahey??
I'm holding my short on MCP. At this level, ANV may go to $2 (or $3 or $4) but it's getting dicey. Then again .... ya wake up one morning and someone's offering $15/sh to get access to a USmining co.
GLTU
Your guess is as good as mine at this point. It took almost two years to go from .... ohhh say 7.80 to 40+. And now it's retraced from 40 to ..... ohhhhh say 7.80 in 5 months. Entirely different company from 2009 to now but $$ of gold dropping, global economy "appears" to be improving (till Israel bombs Iran ... or ... Pakistan / India go at it ... or ... China/Europe go deep-er into recession .... and does anybody really believe Greece is going to repay it's loans .... Puhleese).
I covered my short before the close.
LOL .... who do you think is selling all their shares ???
LOL ... those were the days.
Now ... no more talk of bk. It's all build-the-business and I'd rather be early on GPT than wait. Insiders bought. That was good to see. It may be "dead money" near term, longer term looks like a buy. When they announce the PFD payoff, PPS may be much higher than now.
JMHO
NCT was good to me. GPT, IMO, looks like it's on the road to recovery. In their cc, they did say restarting the dividend is on their radar ... however, they want to build the business first (sustainable growth) then restart the divy. That's sounds like a good plan to me.
Now, looking forward to when NCT splits and the confusion over who gets what and when is cleared up. I'll look to reenter the new entities once the dust has settled.
Thanks K ! ... later cu
With RY one will be able to sleep at night. Sleeping is overrated though. LOL.
I'm a flea still on this dog. IMO it will trade between $6 and $6.50 monthly .... dipping right after divy is paid and rising again into ex-date. Easy money.
I hope you don't have more than a couple of hundred shares because, with the extremely low volume, you will never be able to unload them.
LOL. True.
However I also see GKK resembling an ACAS as well as NCT. ACAS hasn't paid a divy in years but price appreciation has been impressive. Granted, ACAS and GKK, while both financials, are different beasts.
I understand the point you are making with NCT ... but ... the U.S. economy over the timeframes you mentioned was iffy at best and many global issues cropped up. Since mid 2012, the U.S. economy has shown stable consistent strength (granted slow and unimpressive but it isn't going backwards). There are still global issues (mainly Europe) but those will fix themselves over time.
I recently sold my NCT and have been buying GKK. If it flat lines like NCT over the short term ... then so be it. I just believe there is more upside for GKK than NCT at this point in time.

And there is no telling where gold/silver prices will end up. Assuming the global economy recovers we could see gold at $800 and silver at $10. JMO.
What ANV needs is Italy, Spain or Port. to go belly up and/or Cyprus/Greece to cause the destruction of the Euro .... yea, that would do the trick to get Gld/Slv running higher.
$28, $29 or $30 waiting for our politicians to muck things up again !! Oh well. I didn't miss this boat this time but definitely jumped out before it reached the far shore .... long freak'in swim.
THE SIGN. For the old timers from '09 and '10, one (of many) recurring themes was "if the company is going to survive, why isn't management purchasing shares?" Here we are 2013 and we are now seeing insider buying (open market) of significant shares.
I think I'll tip toe into this one based on THE SIGN I've been waiting years to see.
Yes
Dividend a fraction under 13%.
Get it while you can. Nat Gas rates going up. All the people who are now canceling their contracts with JE are just like those people in the stock market who buy high and sell low.
Time to lock in a long-term nat gas rate as they, like interest rates, are only going up from here.
I have to agree. ;-(
It's relatively new and it's free on TDAmeritrade. What I like about it is that it will be less risky than it's "lower risk" brothers/sisters. Why? Lower percentage in bonds. Rates are no longer going down. They are going up and as rates rise, the bond funds will take a whupping. Better to be long stocks than bonds at this point. Just my opinion.
