GOP Openly Weeping About Growing Economy

That's right we are weeping at a -3% contraction. The worst quarterly performance in 50 years. I suppose liberals like you are proud of that? Underachiever advocates as usual.

  • stvbba stvbba Jul 7, 2014 5:50 PM Flag

Why are you here then? You should get back out there and enjoy.

Did these states double the minimum wage?
Did the price of good stay the same or go down afterwards? Or did the rise?

I am not against raising the minimum wage if it is done reasonably and in stages to Obama's requested per hour wage over 2 or 3 years. But to suddenly raise it over 100% at one time is asking for fiscal trouble.

  • For at least the last 30 plus years major U.S. cities have been playgrounds for left-wing experiments, high taxes on the rich; sanctuaries for illegal immigrants; super-minimum wage rules; strict gun-control laws (that actually contribute to higher crime rates); regulations and paperwork that make it onerous to open a business or develop on your own property; crony capitalism with contracts going to political donors and friends; and failing schools ruled by teacher unions, with little competition or productivity. And you wonder why people are fleeing these states by the millions to conservative free market states? Below is a list of 30 other cities besides Detroit with financial troubles over the last 5 years or so:
    East Greenbush, N.Y.
    Compton, California
    Gulf County, Fla.
    Harrisburg, Pa.
    Irvington, N.J.
    Jefferson County, Ala
    Menasha, Wi.
    Newburgh, N.Y.
    Oakland, Calif.
    Philadelphia School District, Pa.
    Pontiac, Mich.
    Providence, R.I.
    Riverdale, Ill.
    Salem, N.J.
    Strafford County, N.H.
    Taylor, Mich.
    Vadnais Heights, Minn.
    Wenatchee, Wash.
    Woonsocket, R.I.
    Compton, California
    Chicago, Illinois
    Cincinnati, Ohio
    Minneapolis, Minnesota
    Las Vegas, Nevada
    Omaha, Nebraska
    Fresno, California
    Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
    Trenton, New Jersey
    Oakland, California
    Providence, Rhode Island
What do these ailing cities all have in common? Most if not all are run by Democrats and are in liberal controlled states. Also, the vast majority are located in states with forced unions, non-right-to-work states. Unions control state legislatures and city halls in non-right-to-work states, so it can become politically paralyzing to try to fix the problem of runaway labor costs. Keep an eye on "too big to fail" cities like Chicago, Philadelphia, and New York too. Chicago pension funds are in worse financial shape than the worker pensions in Detroit.. And there are about a dozen major California cities having systemic problems paying their bills.
Liberalism at its best. you think? Not.

so #$%$ and finest are so very proud of their state. To test your intelligence and honesty ell me knowing what you do about your state would you rather continue to model California like it is or model it like more Texas or Georgia or any of the other top 4 or 5 states that have more successful fiscal and business models?

    And so it begins.

Considering the taxes paid by these states and the total monies sent back to them by the government as demonstrated no one is getting a free ride or is getting more then they should get. If you would take time to read them and understand them and look beyond your inherent liberal bias your argument falls apart. Maybe that's why you don't read them. Quit being ignorant.

There is far more going on with these masses of children and women coming across our southern boarder. Many of these people are invested with diseases this country eradicated years ago. Now our not so smart government is shipping these infestations all over the country and releasing them. It's little wonder some of the smarter Californians were protesting these buses bringing them into their state. Yet not so smart people liberals like you want them to come in. Well I say lets send them all to your states. You can have them if you feel so badly for them. But my guess is you don't mind them coming into the country just not in your neighborhood. Typical liberal hypcriacy .

Where do you think all of those Katrina refuges went after Katrina? You also forget Rita right after that, and recently Ike. And the other disasters that have struck that state. Why someone would be critical of help from FEMA speaks volumes of their lack of understanding and compassion. for others.

Sounds like a typical egocentric liberal to me.

  • stvbba stvbba Jul 3, 2014 11:16 AM Flag

A ridicules and ignorant statement. With a 17 plus trillion dollar national debt and increasing, high corporate (non-competitive) tax rate, new and higher taxes being levied on everything and everybody, and a miserable GDP, we will not see the “good ole days” you predict in the foreseeable future. The only reason the market is up like it is, is because of artificial stimulation by the Fed over the last 5 years. With that removed or never done the market would be in much worse shape. It may be good for investors but it has done little or nothing to help the millions of middle class and working class people who do not or cannot afford to invest. You have blinders on and are living in a liberal utopia dream world. The reality is really going to hurt badly when it hits people like you. It has already hit the working class and lower middle class and it is working its way up.

And here it comes the argument of last resort for liberals. My but you have a lot of aliases. I count 6 or is it 7 now. And not one of them has an argument. Frankly, I am not sure why you are so upset about my original post. Is it because once again you have been found out to be a liar and wrong? I think so. And no matter how many aliases you post with that won't change. But if it makes you feel better keep posting.

From my experience liberals think they see things clearly while their head is 2 feet in the sand. Pretty silly premise for an argument. I guess you are running out of ideas now. Here comes the race card next. The last resort for a liberal in a failed argument. But in this case you never really had a counter argument. Just disparaging comments. Pretty common, you never do.

I bet you must feel pretty stupid these days supporting him... twice is it. I am not sure this is something you really want to brag about to your friends and neighbors. Oh conservatives for that matter.

  • A LITTLE CLARITY ON THE LIBERALS RED STATE WELFARE SCAM AND SOME ACTUAL TRUTH. CONSIDERING THE AMOUNT OF TAXES COLLECTED BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AND THE AMOUNT OF SPENDING BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT (SEE BELOW) ON THE STATES, HERE ARE THE TOP 10 STATES THAT PAY TAXES AND RECEIVE FEDERAL AID. FROM THESE FIGURES I SEE A MIX OF RED AND BLUE STATES WHO THE PAY THE MOST TAXES AND RECEIVE GOVERNMENT AID OF ALL SORTS. SO THE REALITY HERE WHICH SEEMS TO ESCAPE SOME LIBERALS IS THAT THE RED STATES WHO PAY THE MOST TAXES GET THE MOST BENEFITS BACK FROM THE FED. JUST LIKE THE BLUE STATES. THAT SOUNDS FAIR AND REASONABLE THEY ALSO HAVE THE LARGESWT POPULATIONS WHIHC MAKES SENSE. YOU LIBERALS DO KNOW WHAT COMMON SENSE IS? YOU CAN READ WHAT YOU WANT INTO WHICH STATES PAY THE MOST AND GET THE MOST BUT NO ONE IS GETTING A FREE RIDE.

OH THESE FIGURES CAME FROM GOVERNMENT SOURCES.

    STATE TOTAL TAXES COLLECTED (BILLIONS)
    California $264.90
    Texas $200.50
    New York $193.40
    Illinois $116.10
    Florida $110.20
    Pen, $106.60
    Ohio $103.60
    New Jersey $103.50
    Mass $70.10
    Minnesota $67.60

TOTAL FEDERAL SPENDING BY STATE (BILLIONS)
    California $346.00
    Texas $227.10
    New York $195.00
    Florida $175.70
    Virginia $155.60
    Penn $135.70
    Illinois $116.10
    Ohio $108.00
    Maryland $92.20
    Michigan $92.00

STATE AND LOCAL SPENING OF FEDERAL WELFARE SPENDING. (BILLIONS)
    California $49.10
    New York $27.80
    Penn $14.10
    Ohio $12.10
    Texas $10.90
    New Jersey $10.40
    Mass $10.30
    Illinois $8.90
    North Caro $8.30
    Washington $7.60

with few if any viable alternatives get used to higher energy prices. Obama is keeping at least one of his promises by necessarily causing the rise of energy prices. Too bad he has also caused our paychecks to stay stagnant that would have help pay for those higher costs of living. In this case it is intended consequences from the liberals and they too get to participate in it too.
