If it is possible to reinvent a country (or ones self for that matter) this country is probably the only place that could succeed at it.

As I have stated some regulations are necessary and desirable it's the silly unnecessary ones that some idealistic bureaucrat dreams up to fit an agenda that I object to.

After reading a few of your posts I have come to conclusion that you must be a Red State reject and knowing what your opinion is of them them that is very bad for you that you can't even be successful in a Red State as you perceive them. I can understand the obvious vindictive and hateful attitude you must have being rejected by blue states and red states alike. A total outcast. Sad. I suppose you were one of those lead based babies. Very sad EPA was too late to help you.

Take heart langosta it is a common failing of almost all young people. They don't seem to get over it until they reach their 30s these days from my observations. Getting married, having responsibilities, children, and a wife who keeps a disapproving eye on you tends to work well for raising IQs of many men. Personal experience.

Yes, and all those degrees has produced what in those states, huge state debt, large tax burdens on its people, stifling regulations and laws hindering businesses and economic growth, high unemployment in some cases. They think they know better than everyone else because of a degree? Just because you have a degree doesn't mean you are smart and have any common sense and from what I see people in those states they are lacking smarts and common sense and having a degree has not helped them at all, except to think they know better than everyone else. Keep your stat.

My question is how did they quantify and correlate that removing lead from gasoline has caused the rise of IQs by 6 points? I could just as easily say that more highly intelligent people are having babies since the 1980s, or IQs are higher because all those pot and drug users gave up the bad habits, or the next generation that didn't do drugs made more intelligent babies because they were making defective babies from drug use.

Heinlein what you fail to realize because of your liberal tainted view of the world is that conservatives are all for thoughtful forms of regulation. Some regulation and laws are needed and good but introducing thousands upon thousands of these without forethought or caring about the consequences is not a good thing and that is what we seem to have these days. It's stifling our economy and businesses.

It will be difficult for the GDP to average over 2% for the year over the last 2 quarters. To Hit 3% growth the economy would have to run at +5% for the next 2 quarters to get close to that. I have not seen our economy do that well since the late 90s. I would be satisfied if the economy can stay above 2% for the year. We desperately need to do that well to avoid recession like what is beginning to happen in Europe now. Even reliable Germany is having economic difficulties.

Uncle wants to blame lay offs by companies and in part he is correct since they are laying off people. But I contend the policies of this Administration that have done little or nothing to help employment and economic growth and have keep the participation rate at 40 year lows. Retiring baby boomers covers only part of that decline and besides more baby boomers than ever are choosing to stay in the work force today for economic reasons. Democrats and Rhino Republicans turning a blind eye to what is really going on is not going to solve this countries problems.

  • "Ronald Reagan once joked about America’s cynicism toward government when he said: "The nine most terrifying words in the English language are: 'I'm from the government and I'm here to help.'"

When President Obama said Thursday “America is here to help” on the Iraq crisis, he generated similar cynicism given the president’s obvious credibility issues on Iraq and the fact that the “help” he is offering is extremely limited.
The administration’s failure to obtain a status-of-forces agreement with Baghdad when withdrawing U.S. troops in Iraq had tragic consequences that are now apparent. If some American forces had remained, they probably would have prevented the excesses by Iraqi security forces, which led to sectarian tensions and contributed to the rise of the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS), the radical Islamist terrorist group that has seized control of large areas of Iraq and Syria."

If the current President had had the experience and the foresight that the last few Presidents had and who were oft chastised for, just maybe he would not be facing the current crisis of watching the burning of the Middle East while he plays golf and vacations with Hillary and the Bidens. Reminds me of Nero fiddling while Rome burned. Even the Pope is calling for more action then what President Obama is calling for now. This man is way over his head and he chooses to put that head in the sand so he can't see his own mistakes or blames the distant past for the current crisis. This works on ignorant low information voters but not those of us who are well informed.
The lack of U.S. leadership in the world since Obama has taken office is painfully apparent these days with all the wars and strife currently going on around us. More than I can remember in the last 40 years. And soon with the open borders and illegals and terrorists streaming across them we will see it here again. At least the Governor of Texas is taking steps to protect the citizens of Texas, not Obama.

Time to educate you again. Why is it that liberals like you are so dense and uninformed so often?
A product of your liberal environment I would guess. Anyone with an IQ over 75, I believe that leave you #$%$ and many liberals out, would understand that we need reform but reform with immigrants who are educated and have skills that can actually translate into productive contributors to this country and economy. Not the current mass of immigrants streaming across the border that Obama is asking for who will immediately be on the government dole and be an immediate burden to this country and economy. Perhaps people like you like the latter group because now there is someone who is less educated and less able to contribute then even you. The unintended consequence for you is that there will be less government support for you now. Didn't think of that did ya.

Perhaps you a bit dense too like speaker32. I understood the meaning of response quit well. Or maybe you just didn't like the content and the implications it means for a liberal agenda. Amazing liberals can ignore obvious content and meaning for the sake of a failed argument.

I do not think Murdoch is talking about bringing uneducated welfare recipients like Obama and the Democrats want. You liberals want dumb uneducated people who will be dependent on the government (them) and can lead around by the nose and be told how to vote and how to live. While conservatives want people who are educated and will contribute to the betterment of the country. These people will be educated enough and smart enough not to vote Democratic knowing full well liberalism is a miserable failure and always has been.

  • stvbba stvbba Jul 30, 2014 6:12 PM Flag

It's really no surprise at all. Conservatives have known for decades how short the memory Democrats and liberals are. Otherwise why would you continue to vote the same crooked and incompetent people into office and then keep re-electing them. Its a very good example of what excessive drug use and ignorance can do. Or perhaps you are just born stupid. Which is it?

Not quit the far right person you make her out to be. As is usual with your type you cherry pick your information or just make it up to fit, in this case, a desperate attempt to make a relevant statement with an indefensible liberal stance, you failed.
Rand supported abortion rights and opposed the Vietnam War and the military draft. Not conservative attitudes at all. In that vein she wasn't a far left liberal either. Her philosophy of “Objectivism” argues in part on rational self-interest as someone’s guiding moral principle. That sounds more like a liberal. Obviously she was somewhere in the middle. And if she got Social Security or other government help in her later life was she not deserving of them as a naturalized citizen of this country. I think it quit hypocritical of you to object to someone from this country receiving benefits they deserve while supporting illegal’s receiving benefits they do not deserve. Are you that ignorant and uneducated enough to not know the difference? You must be. Disgraceful.

Couldn't say but my guess is you know more from personal experience about being on the doles than most. Quit honestly I would not expect a liberal like you to have read his book since it was written well above your 3rd grade level of understanding. I was thinking more of the movie where even someone like you might comprehend some of it by watching the pictures. I guess I was wrong about that.

The way President Obama is destroying legitimacy of the Democrat Party and what is left of his legacy I am not sure impeachment is even necessary right now. He is a gift that keeps on giving to Republicans and conservatives. Why spoil a good thing . Then again Joe Biden might be an even bigger gift. It's really hard to decide which way to go. I can see why there is hesitancy on the part of Republicans to move forward. I suggest they just wait until after November when Republicans have control both Houses and do it then.
