I don't think the positive events have anything to do with the sell off !
First their have been alot of margin calls to settle and selling a non-margin stock @ dollar for dollar is the best way to settle those calls. Second, and the most important this company is at a point where the assets are not equal to the liabilities. There not there at this point but are heading that way and that "could mean BK". The Book Value is NEGATIVE along with the Operating Cash Flow, Levered Cash Flow, Return on Assets, and Return on Equity, All Negative.
Bottom line, the company is not on sound footing and have never made a profit. You could lose everything or be on one heck of a ride on the upside ! Either way it is a big risk. Good Luck! I'am in but I will not bet the "Farm" on it.
Many investors appear to be quite bearish on LeapFrog Enterprises, Inc. (LF - Snapshot Report), especially if you look at the percentage of the float that is sold short for this stock. Currently, 24.4% of the float is sold short, suggesting an extreme level of bearishness for LF.
However, it is worth noting that earnings estimates have actually been moving higher for the company, despite the pessimism. Thanks to these rising estimates, we have a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy) on LF, so we clearly don’t believe in the negativity surrounding this firm, and are instead looking for shares of LF to move higher in the weeks ahead.
If you think the lawsuits are over because the stock is up .32 cents after losing more the 12 dollars or 37 times todays gain you are very wrong.
If the COST of that growth results in a large NET LOSS ! The bottom line is EARNINGS growth and a NET PROFIT. Many companies have tried to buy their way into revenue growth at the cost of the shareholders and PROFITS. It just doesn't work. RVLT had a 600% increase in revenues when measured Q to Q because of mergers but the net loss was way out of line the the stock went nowhere. Same thing here. You can spin SOME numbers and think things are just great but the numbers that really count are not there.
Flight 370 was not the first plane to be lost in which millions of dollars and thousands of hours have been spent on locating where it went down, but it may be the last aircraft missing in the future. Something WILL BE Done this time around so it can't happen again. The question is will FLYHT be part of the solution ? Production of all aircraft will have new systems designed and installed at the time the aircraft is in production. Unless FLYHT has some patents they will use, they may be out of the picture and only be a factor in older aircraft only.
I guess we will have to wait and see what happens but I feel sure that this time SOME ACTION will be taken. I'am sure the added cost of having tracting in real time would be gradly paid for by future travelers. God Bless the people that have been loss and lets hope this never happens again !
but to me, the revenue and actual dollar amount they made shows they didn't miss earnings.
You keep telling yourselve that, but the market sees it different, and they are the ones that count !
Over 20 people knifed by a student shows we need more guns to protect our kids. We don't need more gun free zones to protect the nut cases from killing others with guns, knifes, gas, ect.
Seems they don't have their act together as of today !
That could change as they have proven in the past. I'am willing to give them a chance and iI am long but I'am not betting the FARM on it today. Good Luck.
Thanks, I found it it the last place I looked which should have been the first place, my Zacks account. Here's part of the release ;
Apr 03, 2014 (SmarTrend(R) Upgrades/Downgrades via COMTEX) -- Orion Energy Systems (NASDAQ:OESX) was downgraded from Buy to Hold at Ascendiant today. The stock closed yesterday at $7.39 on volume of 186,000 shares, below average daily volume of 209,000. Orion Energy Systems (NASDAQ:OESX) has potential upside of 10.5% based on a current price of $7.39 and analysts' consensus price target of $8.17
hhand , Question; I notice you are on both M.B. for FLYHT, AMSLF and FLY.V
I first tried to buy the stock using FLY.V but TD told me to use AMSLF and it would go thur which it did. What's the difference, is one Canada and the other US ? The Charts are almost the same if you overlay one over the other.
After 4 reductions in earnings estimate from .10 to .09 to .06 to .05 and today to .03 !
The statment that they say they are not going to offer more share for sale to raise capital doesn't mean they won't do it and the higher they can jack up the PPS the more likely they will. This isn't a heavy shorted stock but it was in their best interest to drive the stock into over valued territory so they can short. I guess we will have to wait to see if it holds but I see alot of red flags. The news was OK but not that great and a 25% in the PPS was out of line, you don't even get that with a "HOMERUN" in an earnings release report and the trend is DOWN not up.Just doesn't add up to me.
What will this mean?
The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) said on Friday it was studying the possibility of live-streaming flight data recorders from airliners amid calls for such technology following the disappearance of a second airliner in five years.
I think the NTSB is going to force Aircraft Manufacturers to build all future aircraft with new safety features that will allow real time streaming which will cut into AMSLF business as older aircraft are retired. Many safely features on our cars were things that use to be options and the goverment forced those features on every car and you get to pay for it even if you never use it like the auto "black Box". This could put AMSLF out of business. What do you think ?
It will go up next week big time. As far as Margin goes TD, one of the major brokers hasn't let people margin HIMX for YEARS. In order to buy you need 70% cash up front and they will margin the last 30%, When ask why they never give a reason.
My ZACKS account has them way oversold with the following note :
"Himax Technologies, Inc. ’s ( HIMX ) share price has entered into oversold territory with an RSI value of 29.5. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for Himax for the full year period has improved 2 cents over the past two months to 63 cents per share. Currently, Himax has a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy), suggesting that now might be a good time to get in on ( HIMX ) after its recent drop."
The second reason is Volume was almost HALF the normal day volume which means the selling is over. Checking Jaywalk, a research firm at TD they have 2 Strong buy 3 Buys 4 HOLD and 2 SELL.
There had to be some games being played to buy up shares with 8 down days in a row. A lot of FEAR and RUMORS ! Good Luck LONGS!
If I hadn't heard straight from the "horses'" mouth
Wasn't that horse on the "Bud Puppy Love" on u-tube with 50 million hits ?
PPS for the last 8 trading days sucks. I still wouldn't give up on them long term I just wouldn't bet the "farm" on it today. Revenue has never been the problem and they do make profits on those sales but when you subtract the cost of doing business to get those profits you end up with a NET LOSS and no earnings. Think about all the time and money it takes to buy 3 companies in less than 6 months and setup a system with those companies so everybody is not the same page, doing things the same way,and making all the new changes from personal to the letterhead on the paperwork. It takes away from the main focus, takes time, and a lot of money.
RVLT will get there in time but it's going to take a year to settle into a system and learn the RVLT way of doing things. They are making progess in cash flow and earnings just isn't going to happen today. GOOD LUCK LONGS!
What they do :
This technology is remarkable because for the first time in history, FLYHT has demonstrated that live flight data can be streamed from an aircraft in real time. If an airplane encounters an emergency, FLYHT’s proven technology, FLYHTStreamTM, can be automatically triggered to stream vital data that is normally secured in the black box, and provide position information to designated sites on the ground in real time. This technology opens new doors for increased safety and data analysis capabilities in the aerospace industry.
I like where this company is going so I put an order in under FLY.V which is what I poster for you guys if you were interested. The order would not go thur so I call TD Ameritrade and the broker said he has recieve calls on that stock so he knew right away that it was a Canada stock and to buy in the U.S. with U.S Dollars you need to use AMSLF.
So if you're interested, and I'am not saying you should be, the stock is 0.60 U.S. and there is alot of information on their site including a Q/A and all the news sources that have talk to them in the last 2 weeks. It seems their orders are beginning to ramp up but their numbers are the numbers of a start-up company so be careful, check the balance sheet. They do have a M.B.but not much on it, under both FLY.V and AMSLF. If you like excitement and have some "mad money" then roll the dice. Airlines will be looking at this equipment along with the Gov.
GOOD LUCK !
25 mil revs in 2013 and estimated 110 mil revs in 2014, isn't that 440% increase?
Means nothing to the EARNINGS if it cost to much to bring in the revenue. Were in business to make EARNINGS which result in PROFITS ! That's the problem !
