SuperBowler-changing subject on you now. . . I guess you're 65, if my math skills are working---how do you feel about the medical services you receive?
Close, I'am 66 but my 94 year old mom said I think I'am 18 . Seems I have alot of toys, 4 motorcycles, 3 cars and one hot 5.0 Mustang 6 speed, locking rear end and I can't keep tires on it. As for the President I would have rather voted for a Juice Can and I'll say no more on that it just gets my B/P up. I'am a USAF veteran so I use both the Medicare and the V.A systems so that is not a problem but I feel bad for others that don't have medical coverage.
The V.A. is a teaching Hospital and is run mostly by UPMC (University Pittsburgh Medical Center), ranked the tenth best hospital system in the nation by USA Today so the care is first class if you can deal with your room being filled with "kid Doctors every morning. I'am looking into stocks that may benefit from obama care but it's to early to know which direction we are going.
I have a small position, 1K, of RVLT because I'am not sure it's the right stock in a great new field that's just getting started. I would buy RVLT only with "Mad Money", money I could lose. Some of the stocks I like are EJ, ABTL, EXTR, SHOR, RAD, IQNT, HIMX, DXYN and one odd ball that doesn't fit in but I like it LF ! If you run a one year chart on every stock but LF you will see what I look for in a chart pattern. After I get that pattern I get every bit of information I can from everywhere I can right down to the number of job openings and where. I pay for ZACK's which is an independed research firm that has NO AGENDA and doesn't sell or push any stock.
One thing I don't well is write or spell. I was even forced to take H.S English at Penn State for no credit. If you have time look up "The dread tomato addiction" which we had to read at Penn State, it's funny. I have a EE degree.
Next time I'll tell you about th UFO we chased from Minot AFB in 1968 if you want, you can look it up on the we
The only 'squeeze' I can see on these shares is if an offer comes in to buy the company.
I agree with you Joe but the lower the PPS gets the greater the chance of a buyout friendly or hopefully a hostile bid where LF will refuse to show the books but it could set the stage for a "white Knight" to offer a better bid. As you said, the balance sheet is great with money in the bank ! Good Luck !
2) The "Game"----people play games with small cap stocks by running them up and then running them down. It's not hard to find examples of these situations
You got the right idea but if I could add a few things it's the Hedge and other Funds that work together with brokers to control the PPS of a stock not so much the M.B. Their main purpose is to get you to do what they want you to do thur emotional reactions and rumors. When the "shorts" are overwhelm with great news or earnings, their job is to go long and pump the PPS up causing panic buying and driving the PPS up pass the true value of the stock, then they "short" the stock and start selling off their long shares dropping the PPS.
Bottom line is "shorts are not always short a stock, many times they are buying to help get the PPS up so they can short and cycle the process again. Once you understand how the game is played you will not be trapped into doing the wrong thing.
Great Post ! I agree with everything in your post, LED lighting is the wave of the future that's why I am long in the stock since $4.76 a share. Where I don't agree with many is "when" is this going to happen, but with a small position, I can wait and add more shares as needed. The second question is RVLT the right company to ride into the future with. I'll feel better when I see a "profit" in the earnings. Good Luck all longs !
you are the loser!
I never called you a loser, I said you lose. Rule number one with me, I NEVER insult anybody! It's a sign of weakness.
Have a great day !
What is the JOKE ? What did they say in the article that wasn't true. Don't tell me what you didn't want to hear, what wasn't true? The article even said LED lighting may be in the future, I bet you heard that part.
superbowler---did the news scare SHORTY into buying a bunch of shares yesterday???
Calm down, relax. The only stock I ever shorted in 45 years was Eastman Kodak ! I'am not the shorting type but I will tell you this, overall "shorts" are better investors and they have to be.. They have better control over their emotions and their actions are base on cold hard facts and they are not evil people. They are just trying to make money like you are.
If you ever want to be a good investor you will welcome points of views that don't agree with you. Pay close attention to what they have to say, then decide if you agree or not but don't just listen to what you want to hear and insult all others. Be open to all ideas then you decide.
I was in the NAVY and worked in Nuclear Power Plant for over 30 years
I think you took my JOB !
5 days after I turn 17 (1965), my old man dropped me off at the Federal building to enlist in the Air Force. We found out I needed my parents to sign for me but the Navy said they would test me but I couldn't sign anything. I ace the electronics section of the test because I attended half a day in Tech school and the afternoon in high school. The Navy Nuclear Electronics school was 4 years long so you had to sign up for 6 years. Bottom line I ended up in the Air Force after a fight with the Navy to get my records. I worked on Aircraft Control and Warning Radar, ECM, ECCM, (electronic counter measures, jamming equipment). The large rooms we had were lite with light bulbs and I suggested changing to Florescent tubes. I got that suggestion written in my review and may have been a factor in a promotion. My how times have changed.
All day yesterday I posted that the "Navy Deal" was no big deal money wise and this morning the M.F. article said the same thing. The absence of a dollar amount sends up a red flag in my book making me believe they were trying to put a "SPIN" on the news. Now for those that say it sets the stage for future contracts I will give you that, you may be right but it hasn't happen and remains to be seen if it will happen but as I said you could be right. Still I believe the stock buying yesterday was overdone and people were buying on emotion not facts. For those that believe the stage is set for more contracts I wish you the best of luck! I hold a small amount RVLT only because I think LED lighting is in the future and I can keep an eye on it.
LeapFrog Enterprises (NYSE:LF)
"This could be one of the most perplexing stocks anywhere on the planet. It has some of the most popular toys for learning including the LeapPad 2, which has been the market share leader for children's tablets. It has beaten analyst estimates in 10 consecutive quarters; yet its stock price flounders around $8 per share. LeapFrog had a tremendous 2012 and 2013 looks no different. Its earnings per share are expected to grow 20% per annum for the next five years. If it achieves this growth rate, it should deliver $1.87 per share in earnings in fiscal 2017. That's a forward P/E of 4.2, far lower than either Mattel (Nasdaq:MAT) or Hasbro (Nasdaq:HAS), where both companies have an earnings growth rate that is half LeapFrog's.
Mattel's botched purchase of The Learning Company for $3.5 billion in 1999 is considered one of the worst M&A deals in U.S. history. Although this makes the world's largest toy company an unlikely candidate to go after LeapFrog, I have to believe it has a better understanding of what it would be buying a second time around. More than a decade later, educational toys utilizing electronics are hotter than ever. This acquisition is potentially as important as Mattel's purchase of Fisher Price was back in 1993. "
Now would be the time for it to happen ! Buy up the CHEAP SHARES !
The only part that I can argue with is the PEG rate. I'm not sure how your source came up with that PEG number (previous 5 years growth rate or next 5 years predicted, etc.).
Just for you...........
listed under Yahoo "Key Stats" PEG 1.08
Listed under ZACKS if you are a member PEG 1.17
Listed under TD Ameritrade PEG @ the close today 0.40 (most up to date).
First, yinz have two verbs in da title; sentences don't have two verbs! Second yinz have a combined ADJ-ADJ pair of words "uge bullish" ats not modifying any noun! The most popular kids tablet on the market today is LeapFrog and that's a FACT ! This year there are many other large competitors that are trying to break into the kids tablet market but can't seem to scale the wall and may be looking for a easier way. Many of these competitors have alot of money to invest in the growth of their business and are looking for.........
A company that's one number in making the best, most well named kids tablet for a world-wide market !
A company that is cheap and undervalued that can win over shareholders that might sell at $11 to $14 a share to them.
A company with cash on hand, about $80M and no debt.
A company with a PE of 14 and a PEG 1.08 which is super for a PEG which is PE divided by growth.
I could go on and on but my point is unless mgmt can get that PPS up we are getting into a position where somebody may make an hostile run on LF which could force mgmt to except the takeover from a "White Knight"! I realize it's not mgmt main job to worry about the PPS but their comes a time when the share price is too low for other companies not to think about a buyout of LF.
Just when you think everybody is asleep it will happen.
These lights now sell for $40.00 to $80.00 each. This is more than a few bucks!
O.K lets say they are at the high end of your guess. A 20% profit on a $80 LED tube would be $16 bucks times 17K units equals $272,000 dollars. Wow, that's a BIG WIN for sure. I don't know why RVLT wouldn't want to party on such a huge win. The PPS should be $5 by the end of the week ! No wonder they don't state money amounts in their press release.
They cost a lot more than a few bucks. The "big deal" is that they are getting Gov't contracts for lighting.
Gee, I wonder why no dollar amount was stated with that news release ! If this was such a "BIG DEAL" there would be a dollar amount IN THE SPIN !
Maybe the shorts are going to run with this and pump it up so they can short it at an overvalued PPS . There are alot of stocks out there that have these great news releases but don't give the name of the company the sales went to or the amount of money of those sales. Think about it 17K of anything sounds great but the dollar amount is the true measure of what is a great deal.
Those Seesmart lamps replace 32-45w T8 Fluorescent bulbs and what do they cost, a few bucks each. We are not talking about a few million dollars here That is a small contract that people think is far bigger than it is. This stock will be under 3 this week.
Sorry, make that Girl not Gril ! Blame it on the drugs, old age and the Steelers season !
