If you held this stock at the beginning of the year Jan 2 it was worth $1.54 so in 10 months it's $1.64 ! To me that's dead money. SPCB was $4.85 on Jan.2 and is more than double at $10.22 ! Zacks had WYY a sell this summer but now has it as a hold #3. They do rank it as top 29% out of 265 stocks in the industry and it looks like they are starting to get some government contracts. The PEG is a negative 4.42 which shows slow growth in relation to the PE. I think it might be a lower risk penny stock if there is such a thing, and if they continue to add new contracts with the govt. it will do well with somebody that has "mad money" to buy it.

Does anyone have an idea what the stalking horse bid is?

I'am not sure there is a stalking horse and if there is sometimes the number is not released. Why tell others the bid you are forced to pay for a company if nobody will outbid you. Kodak couldn't get a stalking horse in there BK. Nobody would stick their neck out. The one thing that is a little different in this BK is the ASSETS are bigger than the Liabilities and that is due to the inventory which they would be luckly to get 50 cents on the dollar and that would bring the ASSETs well below the Liabilities which leaves nothing for the bottom shareholders. In order for the shareholders to get anything all other taxes,Lawyers, Banks , bond holders, and other debt must be paid 100% in full and that almost never happens.

Bonus can be paid to the top EXE's if incentives are met and they were at EK which set the pensioners that lost their healthcare and the stock holders NUTS. If this goes like most BK's it's over but can be of interest for some to learn the process. Point to remember very hard to file a lawsuit against a company in BK. The BK Court rules over all other courts. The BK Courts decides what is allowed and what isn't.

  • superbowl6wins superbowl6wins Oct 14, 2014 7:35 PM Flag

I can't believe how many people know nothing about BK. The BK court OVERRULES all other courts. You can't file a lawsuit on a company while in BK, can't be done. In most BK's the key Executives are paid a "BONUS" to keep them from jumping ship and losing their knowledge. How about them apples ! They need a reason to stay with a sinking ship !

Here shareholders authorized the new BOD but obviously not the bankruptcy filing.

Shareholders authorized the new BOD to do what's best for the COMPANY not the SHAREHOLDERS. Shareholders have no say in anything once the company is in BK. The BK court has the final say in everything. Shareholders can't even hire a lawyer to act on their behalf in court without court approval.
The only rights a shareholder have is if all TAXES are paid, all lawyers are paid, the banks and vendors are PAID IN FULL 100% and the bond holders are PAID IN FULL 100%. Anything left goes to the old stockholders, (good luck with that.)

Charles Payne said yesterday if the market was up over 200 points he still wouldn't buy before the final hour of trading. He is right it seems the last 2 hours the market tanks.

    Shorts are scavenging for shares....

The "shorts" are done, they already won. All they need is the court order cancelling the old shares and its over. You can't cover shares that don't exist anymore, they are off the hook.

we have a solid bottom, oversold, undervalued

The stock is worthless, it's overvalued by 39 cents. The company needs to shed debt by cancelling the current stock and they need to raise capital by selling "new stock". That's the way it works. That's what chapter 11 BK allows to promote a "new beginning".

    You forgot vendors.

The vendors are part of the debt-holders.
Also as part of the BK process current mgmt. must have every move and all cash payments approved by the appointed court trustee. The current mgmt. does not cancel the current shares the Court does at the suggestion of mgmt. plan to exit BK. The court controls the cash and cash payments to all vendors from this point on. Vendors must continue to sell goods and services to the BK company but the court will make sure they are paid.

As for current shareholders they will only be paid if ALL DEBTORS and bond holders get 100% of what they are owe and that almost never happens. When the court trustee ran Fruit of the Loom, the company made tons of money and was hired to continue running the company post BK but the old shareholders still got nothing.

Unfortunately, based upon the filing, the debt-holders will receive any remaining cash after the bank is paid-off and the shareholders will not get anything.

No, the first to be paid are any TAXES due. Second are the lawyers working the case. Third are the banks. Next are the bondholders and others debt-holders. The shareholder don't even get the paper shares to wallpaper the bathroom. They will not send out paper shares at this point. Sorry, been there, done that, with Eastman Kodak and Fruit of the loom. Lost my butt ! Current shares are almost always cancelled.

The current stock will be cancelled 99% of the time and any shorts will not have to cover due to a court order send to the brokers of the short's.You can't cover cancelled stock. The stock being cancelled is done a few days before coming out of BK as new stock is issued to the debtor's for pennies on the dollar, but none to the shareholders. This stock will continue to trade in its current range just because it's there to trade and traders will trade anything even if it will be worth nothing in the end.
Bottom line the current stock is worthless even if ALCS comes out of BK with new stock to raise capital.

they do have to show reason; however, if you wait for the reason you will not get it as cheap as it is now.

I'am not looking to get it on the way down, I only buy on the way up. To me it's better to miss some gains on the way up then to have losses trying to guess the bottom. That's just what works for me i'am not saying everybody should do it.

Looks like a bottom, lets hope it hold and pray this company gets a ER that it needs

It's going to take several ER's that show a "net" profit along with revenue growth before investors buy RVLT but it could happen but not in one quarter. RVLT is in a "Show Me" mode as far as investors are concern.

WLDN and HFT = Gifts from Heaven

Why are they gifts from Heaven. I sold all but 200 shares ( My idea of a "watch list"), the day after Zacks downgraded WLDN and today it is still a #4 sell ranking. Looking at the numbers I never saw the value of WLDN but people continued to buy it until last week. Maybe I am missing something, tell me why it's a gift. Good Luck!

I have an account with Zacks that I check everyday and HIMX at a #2 is the highest ranking Zacks as given HIMX in YEARS.

No news , SEC filing, insider selling, nothing that us last to know common folk can find but the selling is on very heavy volume so it must be something serious !

Sooner or later we will fine out but it will be to late to do anything about it so I am just going to hold for now. Good Luck!

Its getting closer. Markets still uncertain. Still thinking about selling half to wait it out

Well if you have TD Ameritrade 70% of your HIMX is in CASH because they will not fully margin it. That's always my "ace" in a hole in case of a call or a hot stock I want to buy. On the other hand HIMX is in an uptrend and it should continue but I don't think it will run away from you if you want to sell and get back in later at a slightly higher price.

pls let me know when the knife stops falling, so I can buy too. I just don't know when that is.

That is a great question and there are some "red flags" to watch for but nothing that results in a sure thing out come. If a stock is in a downward trend get a graph of the volume and overlay that with the fall of the PPS. When the volume slows down to almost normal volume that is when the knife stops falling. I always wait until the PPS is flat or starts on the up swing before I buy which causes me to lose some gains but that is a trade off from buying to early and having a loss.
I invest to avoid losses first and make gains second but it doesn't always work that way. If you're right most of the time that's all you can ask for. Good Luck !
