I have been right here for quite a while along with on the EBIX and GBX boards. Have not heard from L@L in a year although I did look him u[p not long ago. Unfortunately yahoo doesn't let you know what board the messenger is on. ARO, investor village, right? Good to hear from you.
Don't forget, a company can only buy back 25% of the AVERAGE DAILY VOLUME. Doubtful the big trade had anything to do with the buy back. just saying
They MIGHT say something like, "we are on target(or maybe even are ahead) of our quarterly earnings. They MIGHT say how many of the company's shares they have purchased this quarter. They MIGHT say a multitude of things that MIGHT give the impression that this crash is blown out of proportion . OR they could just say the company is on its way out of business. BUT SAY SOMETHING!
Rex, I have the same thoughts. This is a huge drop. But the pharma loby group is one of the largest and our Reps. in Washington like to be bribed!
What I would like is this company show us that there is any kind of leadership associated with it. Stock price cut by almost 60% and not a peep of acknowledging it or any attempt to defend it. Sad.
Analyst reaction to the sale has been positive. Most see the deal as an obvious step in the Mallinckrodt’s desire to refocus its business.
A group of Goldman Sachs analysts, Gary Nachman, Divya Harikesh and Mack Kerker, said the declining and lower profit margin imaging business (CMDS) has “been a drag on the company’s overall growth and profitability.”
Your last post here says "Mallinckrodt estimates that once the deal closes in a few months it will lose between $415 million to $425 million from its fiscal 2015 revenues. That translates into a REDUCTION of diluted, adjusted EPS of between $0.35 and $0.45. The CMDS business had about $210 million in sales during the first half."
And then later in same post says
MNK sells, for $270 million, a business that generated annual net profits of around $47 million
Which is it???
Are you cutting and pasting to make your own point? Makes no sense!
some things I found:
Mallinckrodt’s nuclear imaging business, which was not part of the contrast media and delivery systems (CMDS) sale to Guerbet, brought in $108.8 million in sales during the quarter, a 1.4 percent drop from the same period in 2014. At the same time, the company’s CMDS business reported that its revenue dropped 20.5 percent in the third quarter, to $92.8 million.
Harbaugh referred to the cash generation of the CMDS business as very modest. “One of the lowest in our portfolio,” he said.
“So, with CMDS leaving the portfolio, that actually will strengthen our gross profit as a percent of sales,” Harbaugh said.
Do you know which "large position"sold the 67 whole shares to get the price down to 70.57? LOL
What we are doing in the 70's has very little to do with what you are speaking of. The tweet did not go out until yesterday. If you have been with this stock as long as you say, you know this is steep, but not out of the ordinary for these shorts. Hell, MNK was worth this much without QCOR! I certainly don't think it is worth less with it. The Q went through the exact same threats at least twice and came through fine.
I do not think we go very much lower at all. Nov earnings will change a lot.
Oh, I am not a HIllary hater. Don't particularly like her, but next to those dozen empty suits and very bad fired CEO and liar, if she is nominated..... For once in my life I would like to vote "for" someone instead of against the bozo on the other side.
This Hillary you speak of, same Hillary that charged the boys and girls club $200,000.00 for a less than 1 hour speech not long ago? Maybe she should clean out her own #$%$ prior to looking up someone else!
She is just paying lip service to this guy to try and stir up votes. The biggest lobbyist in Washington is the drug companies. How far do you really think she will take this? Just saying.
