Nice. I am seriously impressed by your call.
Can you tell when the top of the day comes from your charts too ?
I don't do day trading unless there is something obvious. QRVO today was the one but I didn't traded as my margin is exhausted. I usually go with the old maxim "if you saw the price , you will see it again" Today QRVO was expected to go down and it went , then it briefly recovered to 60 and that would be a good time to buy 60 Put and then set Sell to Close order right away at the double .
Unfortunately, all those systems work only sometimes and they fail right at the moment when you are most confident in them. I've got burnt on SWKS after earnings dump and now have to slowly recover my margin balance.

Well, they don't call it "bleeding edge" for nothing.
Windows 10 was just released. Here is one little secret for you - there used to be that new release of software has to go through beta testing. Not any more - I mean, officially that phase still exists, but unofficially it's cheaper to have support team to work on end users complains. And to attract new "beta testers" they made Win 10 upgrade for free. And another little secret - any developer that is good at coding gets promoted to architect or manager position and stops coding. And last but not least secret - Apple is not far behind Microsoft. Apple is spending all their efforts on IOS (iPads and iPhones and iWatches) and pretty much abandoned old reliable MacOS. It became a Frankenstein of software packages. My daughter has MacBook and after latest update all icons and fonts became ugly so now they match iPhone ones. Software that used to be free is not free anymore , you get useless iWatch packages instead etc.
Stick with Win 7 as long as you can, have someone to rebuild your PC from Win 10 / Win 8.1 down to Win 7.

NXPI was a good beat and guidance

The market is all messed up. Is it the heat or lack of cold beer or both. Maybe it's all control by robots while all the pros are taking vacations. Or interns.
    Earnings don't matter. Guidance neither.
SHAK had lockout period expired and it run 18% on big volume. It supposed to be dumping day !
Today is SNDK's ex-div date and it was down 4 days in the row before. I saw stocks going down a day before ex-div but not 4 days.
SWKS is included in Nasdaq 100 and all index funds should rebalance and load SWKS - in normal situation of supply and demand it would bring pps up . Not in this market.

It's interesting thing. Going to basics - computing device has processing unit(s) , storage units, and things that move bits from storage to processing units. The storage (memory) was always bottleneck and so it is divided in several layers - the fastest is the on-chip cache and the slowest is off-line storage on tapes.
So if you put access time and data sizes on the graphs you would get on chip cache is extremely fast but tiny and off line storage is huge but takes a day or so, In between we have main computer memory (DRAM) and hard disks . Hard disks were slow nad not very reliable and are replaced by SSD which are also not very reliable but faster. This new invention as I understand is going to replace SSDs (and flash cards) and makes their access time on par with DRAM. Well, one caveat is that the claim "1000x faster " sounds like marketing a lot. There is seek time and there is fetch time and then there are read times vs write times,.Which one is 1000x times faster - probably only one of then, not all .
My take is that it is going to change the computing a lot but not all in a good way. Just like cheap hard drives and cheap DRAM caused software to bloat - computers (hardware+software) are not much faster today and in many cases are even slower (because they have to fetch something from internet, or copy your ssn/credit card/passwords to a remote server somewhere in Pakistan which could be down at that moment)
Overall the "1000x faster" stance smells strange . On the other hand, MU was down in the gutter because it was "old tech and commodity" and now they're going to prove that they still can innovate and it should bring PE to comparable levels with other semis.

    Wait until Yellen speaks.
I don't like that Dow is up 95 points as well as other indices - it means to me that the expectations are already baked in. Any wrong wind from her and house of cards will go.

I use RSI and Slow Stoch and some stocks just work out well. The best are well established companies like BA or IBM - they are still volatile enough to trade options . Others like AMBA are just hyped to much to use standard metrics.

What does your modified RSI says ?
To me it looks overbought on both RSI and SlowStoch.

The trouble with your analysis is that it's 3-4 years late.
I cannot find the quotes on it but Motley Fool was promoting NXPI with pretty much these words long time ago - it was sub 20 at that time. There is still growth left in NXPI especially after FSL acquisition but it won't be 5x growth. Maybe 1.5x which is still decent money .
One news everyone seemed to have missed is USB-C connector news. In next 2 years all devices will switch to USB-C except Apple. Apple won't switch because whatever connector iPhones are using now is pretty much USB-C so they don't have to.

    Today was not 'dump' .
Volume speaks - the day before earnings there were 6.6M shares traded , after earnings the jump was 23M and today was moderate down on 5.5M .
If anything , it's the beginning of "the flag" . In couple weeks it will be clear if it is a flag indeed or not.
if it is then it will go up (gradually ) another 8-10 .
Keep shorting - all smart shorts covered today, there may be another day similar next week but not much after that. Get with the flow .

    Stocksgirrl,
I listen to your analysis and I like quite often what you say.
I've been doing enough reading on patterns and applying them in real life and one thing I know is that you cannot use patterns until they formed. So, saying that head and shoulders are still intact and still forming is contradiction in itself. Other thing is that patterns may not work out at all - head and shoulders has success rate of 60% according to Bulkowski .
Right now, you're looking for acceptance that you were right in June. Not sure why do you need it but , ok , you were right . Thank you, can you stop now telling how you were correct a month ago.
I'd rather prefer if you apply some of the magic 4/9/18 rules to swks and tell us where it may be next week. People want to see hope in numbers.

What's your take on LLY ?
I was thinking to get into it yesterday and even more thinking about it today.
Cindy is right about BIIB getting double whammy ( earnings + Alzheimer drug)
LLY is just opposite - good earnings and their Alzheimer drug still has some hope.

When I saw it dropped to 98 on Thursday , I got a few 99 Calls and cashed them out yesterday.
I was so delighted that decided to repeat today with 102 calls
I thought I learnt that lesson before but apparently not.
And then I look on the market and think, it's not that bad I could be invested in biotech like BIIB or XOMA
Wait, I am invested in XOMA
oh well, I have to tap onto my investment in alcoholic beverages tonight.

Hey, Hillary knows about trading - if I remember it correct she was doing future trading when Bubba was a governor . She had 100% success rate with her trades .
Seriously, it's not about "how to ruin middle class" , middle class is cooked by current administration already.
It's "whatever it takes to get votes" .
