Yeah, i only saw one map .
I worry too that the world peace is no more. Only I don't think it's Turkey is trying to start World War. I think Turkey is just a proxy , pretty much like Ukraine or Palestine. And I don't like South China sea events too - it's all heating up everywhere.
I stand corrected.
"It's kind of downplayed in US media and by beoyondtheverge as "Turkey-Russia" tension .."
I am not going to pick political fight here today,
Thanks to Rock and Jimmy
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
Have you seen the map of the flight path ?
There is Syria and there is a small appendix of Turkey sticking out . So it would be quite natural for jets to fly over that small piece of Turkey as a shortcut. I would think that jet were flying there all the time and it was just a matter of someone's decision to shoot. I think it was not just stab in the back for Russia but also for France - their president was going to meet with Putin on Thursday and talk about coordination of support in the fight against ISIS. And I also believe that Turks are bad poker players - they called Washington right after they shot the jet down.
As for whimpy president - he only made it worse for US politically again. Whatever response Russia will do it will be very angry and powerful and US will be again - only words 'we stand by our friends" . Russia will gain in their perception by other countries and US will lose. And the biggest losers are those US-backed rebels , they missed their chance to be white listed .
Well, US advanced greatly as result of both WW-I and WW-II. Usually, wars are great for making money to select few. We all worry about nuclear Apocalypse but it's possible to have all world nuclear countries to get involved into conflict with just conventional weapons. And that would make money for those guys.
Barry and Putin maybe facades but in the same line Ukraine and Turkey are just proxies in the war with Russia. So the war is ongoing and it just got worse. Two days before French guy supposed to meet with Putin to discuss possible cooperation in the fight against ISIS and Turkey (another NATO member) shoots Russian jet is not a coincidence. And Turkey immediately calls Washington - they are very bad at playing poker. There are games played behind France back and those games are not nice. I have some hopes for French president - he may talk it out with Putin, Russians have soft spot for French. - here is a nice touch : search for "Russian bombs 'For Paris'" in images .
That downing Russian jet by Turkey and subsequent execution of one of Russian pilots by US-backed rebels worries me. It's kind of downplayed in US media as "Turkey-Russia" tensions over Syria but it's not.
As far as I read in the all the news I can find Russia is calling out all their citizens from Turkey (it was a popular vacation destination for middle class Russians), tourist agencies canceled already all Turkey tour destinations and sent refunds and Foreign Minister canceled his trip to Istanbul. I don't think anyone can predict what would be Russian response, after all, Putin is not Obama. I mean, we all know what would be Obama's response if say China would down US spy plane in South China sea. A pompous speech.
US-backed rebels missed their chance to be white-listed from bombing targets for sure.
Overall, the world is not getting calmer and more peaceful and if any possibility for WWIII you had in your mind this was a good ignition for it. I thought that if WWIII would happen it would be religious war and it looked like it was going as "war against terrorism" and escalated a lot after Paris attack but now I am not so sure .
Ok . I agreed that France rejoined as full member in 2009.
Well, then it will only gets more complicated if Syrian government would protest against their air space violations and how would French /NATO then bomb ISIS in Raqqa ? Better work it out quickly with Russians.
I guess, I am all in the past - I remember that they didn't vote to go into Iraq war and their vote was independent from NATO.
France withdrew from NATO in 1966. Maybe they are still in as observers on council level but French military is separate from NATO.
Well, It's now up to NATO and US to say are we fighting the common enemy (ISIS) with Russians or not.
France is not part of NATO, and French President was going to meet with Putin on Thursday.
Yeah, let's shoot Russian bomber when it's returning back from mission.
Maybe Russians will get scared and leave Syria.
I don't think that Apple Watch would use our micro OLED displays.
Apple Watch screen is small but not that small - they need mini OLED, not micro. Ours are too small for them .And resolution is too high for the watch. Remember that high resolution means a lot of addressable pixels which would require advanced graphic processor which would eat power fast. It's better to go with low res and big pixels , use simple graphic chips ,the don't heat up and don't eat batteries.
Funny that Universal Display jumped 10% on Apple rumors. It looks like rumors were straight from the horse mouth - their CEO was presenting on investors conference and apparently he answered some questions by dropping strong hints toward Apple. If you look on OLED intraday graph you would see that their stock price jumped somewhere in the middle of the day with only possible explanation that it was the time when he was presenting. I don't get how Universal Display would get revenue from Apple switching to OLED . They don't make displays themselves, they only sell licenses and I think it was just flat licenses, not unit based.
SWKS was 74 on Monday - it's up $4 for a week or 5%
It went from 74 to 81 in 3 days and then it dropped on Thursday but not as much as to get to Monday's level
Just forget that it was 110 back in the summer - play the ball where it lies.
How far out you sell those calls ?
I mean, there are no 92 calls for Dec 18, and 90 calls for Dec 18 are going for 0.26 or so. You would need to sell like 50 contracts to make $1200
Very good point.
After FB throws billions into Oculus Rift ,everybody was expecting similar valuations in other VR/AR companies while all it was just boy Zuckerberg playing rich.
Vuzix got 20M from Intel just to stay afloat for couple years.
This is as far as real investment goes
Thanks for correction
I should have picked it up , and rewind and listen it over. I knew something was not right - they never say anything about nearest future - and yet I didn't doubt myself. Oh well, not the first time I've made myself a fool.
