Oh Geez 34.58??? Well, I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that Z will slowly go up and we can all recoup some of our losses. I hope your 2014 is going well so far Slug :)
LOL.....hilarious! I can't believe that someone would even post the fact that they made a couple hundred bucks!!! :) Must be a young teen.
Sounds like you've had quite an interesting career! My Dad having been so high up in the USSS went on to have some really incredible jobs after his retirement. Seems to have spent his entire life protecting and helping others in one capacity or another. He was just with us this past weekend visiting and we love to hear his stories, especially the undercover ones in NY City!! He's still the coolest guy I know! Yes, you may have crossed paths at one point or another.
Thanks for the advice on PF, I will give it a try if I am cursed with it in the future. I had it for quite some time and spent every morning wrapping my foot so that I had more support in the arch. I was very diligent and luckily it worked.
Well have a great New Year and you stay safe too Genetz! Happy New Year to All :)
Yes, thank goodness for next year! Running has been my passion for many years, but not for the past 3 weeks. I closed out 2013 by taking a horrific fall on black ice 3 weeks ago! I was doing a good deed for a neighbor, taking care of his dog!! What's that saying? Oh yea, "no good deed goes unpunished!" Story of my life. Good thing I landed face first hitting my mouth rather than slamming my head. My 4 front teeth were totally numb and I bit almost the entire way through my bottom lip, which is probably a good thing or I'd be toothless and as my husband said, "we'd have to move to the trailer park near Walmart." LOL One of our neighbors is the head of the Army Hospital ER, so I paid him a visit and he was going to stitch up my mouth but couldn't find his bag with sutures. As it turned out, teeth are still in my mouth (1 still slightly loose), the lip has healed and the concussion seems to have subsided. Seems that ZLCS wasn't my only curse this year! Hope 2014 is better for all of us :) And by the way, you're smart for staying away from long distance running. It keeps you in shape, but is very hard on the body as well. Take Care Tab :)
Oh wow, we do have quite a bit in common. Not just the running, but the federal agent thing too. My Dad was a federal agent, retired as the Assistant Director of US Secret Service years ago. And my sister was a US Customs agent until she had her child 10 years ago. Currently one of my son's is in the application process for our county police. I'm not an agent of any sort, but should have been!
I used to be a pretty good tennis player, got a scholarship to college after playing from the age of 15-17. After college I began running, I was told many times over the years by both of my parents to "take it easy" with the running because it takes a toll! Did I listen? No. My parents were both runners, my Mom actually trained for the Boston Marathon years ago with a guy named Marty Liquori (you may know the name). My Dad was transferred, so we moved and she didn't get to run the race. I've run for over 20 years 6-12 miles/day 6-7 days a week for many years. More recently 4-5 miles 4 or 5 days a week. I've had many injuries from Achilles tendonitis to plantar fasciitis to sciatica to tendonitis in my hip. Luckily, everything seems to go away with time, rest and lots of ibuprofen and recently I have cut way back and try to run solely on my treadmill and not on the road. I will definitely keep your medicine regimen in mind for future ailments!! Thanks for the good info, always good to hear what works for someone else.
Well, best of luck to you and your knees Genetz! LOL No seriously, have a very Happy Healthy New Year and I do hope that Z can make its way back at least somewhat. I do still have some money I the darn stock. :)
Thanks Jim! And by the way, I tried many times to post a message back to you many days ago when you spoke about your horrible back pain :( One of my dear friends knows quite a few people with terrible neck/achilles/back pain and they swear by a natural remedy called Arnica. I believe that it comes in a couple different forms, but I have never used it or heard of it. You may already know of it, but I wanted to pass the info along to you. Chronic pain is awful to live with. My husband had a neck surgery a couple of years ago and I have had numerous injuries as a result of long distance running for years...it's a real pain! No pun intended, LOL Take care and Happy New Year to you :)
