Did D. J. say that CPST had produce too few C55"s and too many C1000's? That would suggest that someone is guessing on what the future product mix will be. This also tell me the backlog is perhaps not correct. unless you are counting product already assembled but there is an order for it.
I hope someone could explain where I went wrong.

Thanks. At what point does a large backlog become a problem. There are interest expenses, etc. The costs are typically represented in financial reports on a per-unit basis. Have you seen what they are? I'm not nocking the backlog, as you say "Its a good thing"

It would seem to me that there is a problem either getting /manufacturing product for assembly or an assembly problem. With the back log rising each quarter something is not working. Perhaps that was the reason for hiring Richard B. Lewis Vice President Operations. Perhaps someone can help me understanding what is going on Less

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

One of our primary investment objectives here at Torrey Hills is to identify early stage companies/opportunities that seek to build a market foothold not neccesarily in the current market environment - but one that's in the path of where that industry trend is likely heading, and that means sometimes they are there even before there is a significant market even built. This pioneering spirit, when executed properly creates the "perfect storm" type of opportunity that can more often than not deliver outsized profits. Granted, this strategy takes equal amounts of patience and conviction. Keeping your eye squarerly on the fundamentals - the key value drivers - while at the same time not getting too hung up on metrics such as progressive revenue growth, profitability, etc. These financial metrics are the domain of the mid-sized to larger companies and generally do not apply to the small and micro cap issuers. Just as we tell many callers looking for updates on client companies, it's not always easy being early. Sometimes it's darn difficult and oftentimes downright painful. But one thing is for certain, to make the really big returns it's almost imperative that you need to be in a stock before the mainstream market likes it. Before it gets hot.
