June fleet status is out and it seems the news I mention in the message above is not an issue - I'd still like them to have commented on it apparently not working at the moment.

If you do a google search for the rowan rennaissance, a couple of links down in the 'infield' link it says the rig hit dry patch and the explorer and rowan have decided to analyse the results before drilling again .. so it looks like the drilling has stopped since 13th june - not sure what this means, I'm guessing Rowan isn't getting paid ... the next fleet status is due out this week - should be interesting.

RDC sid they believe the rig can be operating again by being of June - within days of them releasing the fleet status report. The report came out relatively late - I think they thought they might get the rig operating again before issuing the report so it seems like it's a very fixable issue. They also mentioned something about getting spare parts or the like okayed ... they may have got lucky in that they had spare parts readily available - possibly from the rigs that are currently being built. In any case it's a bit of a baptism of fire - but no better way to tranin in a crew and they might have got off with it being a relatively cheap lesson.
Also - volume was 6M today - 3X Avg vvolume - don't knowwhat that's about - possibly a couple of mutual funds exchangeing shares but unusual.

Yo gringo - it's lonely on this board - S&P report says RDC has only 77 investors .. sounds too low given they have ~ thousands of employees and 1.3M or so daily volume. But I'm guessing almost all the volume is high-freq trading trading amoung themselves. In any case, I think RDC is very undervalued but itcould stay that way for some time. But if they meet their earnnings over the next year and further mgt can put a lot of pressure to push the stock up ... like returning earnings to shareholders through divi or buybacks ... as they have suggested they will do. I think we only have to wait ~ 9 - 12 mts before we begin to at least get paid very well to wait for the stock to aapreciate. My only concern is for them to meet their earnings ... we'll see.

    Earnings

And for the 12 mts ending June '15 they have them earning $4.34 (not that they have been very accurate with their 12-mt out estimates). Still if they get close to that, a PE of 14 gets us $60/shr or a 1.3X Book value of $44.5 at the time gets us $58/shr. Those are not greedy valuations ... just a bit of sentiment got to turn around. I'm hoping they can execute in 2015 and I think the shr price will follow. And if the stock goes to $60 I'd liek to think I'll hold on for the momentum to take it to $80.

$0.28 Vs $0.20 est ... and picked up an additional $0.17 from a settlement.
    Entered the deepwater.
"We started the year with more than half of our fleet coming off contract during 2014 and we have extended or contracted four rigs at or above their existing rates and expect similar results for the remaining rigs over the balance of the year."

Let's see if that can get us any love ... but wouldn't be at all surprised if it doesn't.

Well how do you get so much worng???
... the projected forward earnings/pe for RDC is for the forward calendar yr. RDCs expected earnings are ~ $2.5 for 2014 and ~ $4.2 for 2015.
I won't waste more time on discussing the rest.
Mr. To - that article was embarrrassing but I like your picture.
