He's talking about the FDA approving their phase 2/3 trial not approving the drug.
There is no way you can extrapolate results from a small trial to a large trial.
I can't believe you got 2 thumbs up with such a ridiculous statement.
You may have not giving a prediction but plenty of others have.
I have no idea if the drug will be successful. I do know that they have a long way to go and this presentation will tell you little about the efficacy of the drug (due to the number of patients enrolled in the study).
That said, I think the euphoria continues and the stock continues upward.
Don't burst their bubbles. To them Anavex has cured AD and is worth billions of dollars.
I will be curious to see how many patients are in the trial. Biotech companies usually issue a PR when the trial is fully enrolled. I haven't seen anything from Anavex yet. Maybe they'll release something before the presentation for a double whammy.
I don't need to believe. There is no academic proof that technical trading gives you superior returns.
I'm glad you're making money, but nothing you stated disproves my point.
Sept. data isn't being released July 22nd. They haven't stopped the trial early.
This is initial data of an ongoing trial. Biotech companies release interim data from ongoing trials all the time.
You guys need to tone it down.
As you also know, technical trading gives you no better of a return than buying an index fund of the whole market over the long term.
Also, returns of an index of hedge funds vs the S&P 500 are nearly identical over the last 20 years.
So you see, hedge fund managers are no better than the market itself.
Don't say that over on the AVXL message board, they're convinced that the company has all but cured Alzheimer's.
China is worrying me at this point. Need to raise more cash because I think things are going to get ugly very soon.

LOL!!!! I haven't been in either AVXL or TPIV in weeks and made well over 100% on each. TNXP is the play, I'm in for 15,000 shares at 6.65 average. Easy money I'll sell at $12 within a month.
Now don't tell me you're a stinking liar.
Maybe you just probably forget to post that you bought back in.
C'est la vie.
Yes they will, but with only 32 patients in the trial, none of the secondary outcome measurements will be statistically significant.
So I wouldn't get too excited about these initial results.
That's not to say the stock won't march higher but they have a long way to go.
The results won't be a disaster because the primary outcome is to determine maximum tolerated dose.
No matter what the company will declare the trial results positive and proceed with a phase IIb trial involving a much larger number of patients.
From their website..."The primary objective of the trial is to evaluate the maximum tolerated dose of ANAVEX 2-73 in these patients. Secondary trial objectives include dose response, bioavailability, exploratory cognitive efficacy using mini-mental state examination score (MMSE) and electroencephalographic (EEG) activity, including event-related potentials (EEG/ERP), as well as the relationship of ANAVEX 2-73 as an add-on therapy to donepezil, the current standard of care."
It would be white noise if not for the fact that we are in the 7th year of our bull market and overdue for a correction.
Investors at this point, might be looking for an excuse to sell. Who knows.
You only got 185% if you could buy at the offer price, something that the vast majority of retails can't do.
83% gain from low to high. Not too shabby for a half day.
