Expectations were way too high. Expecting 90% plus or better results is dumb. Shows us that Jonathan Gruber was 100% right when he said "Americans are stupid" when passing Obamacare. If half of ALS patients now have hope to slow down disease progression, it is a remarkable move forward for ALS patients considering before it was 0%. Investors are stupid, no doubt.
Going from NO TREATMENT to a 47% response rate is FANTASTIC!! A great improvement in hope for all ALS patients. Having said that, lets keep in mind, it is EARLY in the process of patient selection. That will take a few years to be refined and improved. Expecting 100% response is highly unrealistic with stem cell treatment, but improvements will be made over time, the sooner the better, of course. BTW, efficacy was a secondary end-point.
I remain confident that Phase 3 will move the selection process a bit forward.
