    Friday''s selloff reason

I never said that the "The Street" had a shred of truth in their opinions, just that their SELL rec. was a trigger for the Cramer CULT to act.
You started out denying knowledge of " The Street", now you're offering references to their operations. Sounds like you have taken some of their "advice" and gotten burned.
Cramer is an entertainer with a lot of fans.

Ever watch CNBC ? Know who Cramer is ?? Never heard of the " The Street" ? WOW !!

How can you question their credibility if you don't know who I'm talking about ??

Its not about credibility either, its about the mass of shareowners responding to an input .

"The Street" put out a SELL recommendation, downgrade from HOLD. So all the Cramer SHEEP- did just that.

Where will we be 2 yrs from now ?? I'm in for a PURE SPECULATION here ! How can you NOT attract attention when you have 3D AND Graphene in your company name !!
My take is that eventually somebody will discover/invent/create a new and better way of making Graphene. The material price will tumble by an order of magnitude (or 2) and uses for it will become widespread.
That "somebody" may be totally off the radar screen at the moment, or could be a BIG company-- ( Samsung, Lockheed, etc) and not an investment situation that would POP !
Put some CRAZY money into this and watch the ride !

"Softcard, the U.S. consortium of top U.S. mobile network operators, AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile USA , said last week that it was working with Apple to develop a SIM-card based version in 2015."

This is Gemalto's chance for a piece of the ApplePay pie. My take on this is that IF they get Apple Pay working with a SIM card, then ANY smartphone using a SIM card will be "ApplePay capable" . In other words---YOU WON'T NEED an iPhone.

Will Apple surrender their monopoly ?? Maybe, because the mobile payment world is a BIG place to make money. You can only sell so many gadgets like new phones, but getting a slice of the Billions of mobile transactions is a HUGE shot at a recurring revenue stream.

It appears that Apple has ONE-upped Gemalto with Apple Pay. I can find no connection between the 2. I do see Gemalto attempting to connect with Apple somehow, but No real deal ( Yet ?) The HUGE installed base of Apple products makes Apple Pay a VERY likely success story---UNLESS, their security proves to more vulnerable to hacking then Gemalto's.

  • Apple Patents New iPhone Antenna with Integrated NFC

by István Fekete on Thursday, May 22nd, 2014 - 9:57am PDT

Before each iPhone launch, rumours that Apple will adopt near field communication (NFC) technology surface. This year is no exception, but there is much more: now, with the latest patent related to NFC published by the US Patent and Trademark Office, Apple has spilt gas on the fire (via Patently Apple).

Patent number 20140139380 is just one that Apple has submitted in relation to this technology. This particular patent warrants special attention, however, as the iPhone maker has allegedly inked a deal with China UnionPay to launch iWallet. Apple’s mobile payment services is said to use NFC in order to be compatible with China UnionPay’s system based on Gemalto’s secure platform.

    Antenna nfc

Apple’s filing states that “The “Antenna structures may be formed at opposing ends of an electronic device. The combining of circuitry may allow the near field communications circuitry and the non-near-field communications circuitry to be coupled to common antenna structures.”

The above image is a cross-section of an electronic device and shows how antenna signals may be emitted and received from both ends of the handset.

Since the aforementioned NFC rumour surfaced, analyst firm Morgan Stanley have updated their earlier forecast about the technology heading to the iPhone, and predict 2014 as the year of change

Strong possibility that the new "iWallet" ( or what ever Apple will call it) relies upon Gemalto GTOMY, GTO.PA technology. Gemalto a company virtually unknown to US investors is the de-facto World Leader in mobile payments. They are in bed with Visa, Mastercard, Eurocard, Verizon, AT&T, Vodafone and countless other big players. Unless Apple wants to re-invent the wheel here and try and certify a whole new mobile payment technology , my money is on Gemalto---Now go do your homework.

Appears that Vodafone is finally offering their Mobile Wallet. Gemalto is in on this with a 5 yr contract.
Anybody paying ANY attention to Gemalto ???

Not much action on EEQ board, so I'll ask my question here. Are the share distributions on EEQ taxable ?? Do you get a 1099 form ??? Looking for a replacement for Kinder KMR shares which had this feature. Thanks in advance
