Some republicans are starting to embrace the single payer health care system.
Former Secretary of State Colin Powell has waded into the health care debate with a broad endorsement of the kind of universal health plan found in Europe, Canada and South Korea.
"I am not an expert in health care, or Obamacare, or the Affordable Care Act, or however you choose to describe it, but I do know this: I have benefited from that kind of universal health care in my 55 years of public life," Powell said, according to the Puget Sound Business Journal, last week at an annual "survivors celebration breakfast" in Seattle for those who, like Powell, have battled prostate cancer. "And I don't see why we can't do what Europe is doing, what Canada is doing, what Korea is doing, what all these other places are doing."
Europe, Canada and Korea all have a "single-payer" system, in which the government pays for the costs of health care. Less
Another 100% lie. Medicare is not means tested nor has it ever been. The idea has been floated at times but it never went anywhere. There is nothing on the horizon that would mean means testing for medicare. This board has a lot of liars on it.
A 100% lie. You get the same amount wheter you make $10 or make $10,000,000. The only thing that affects it is if you have earned income over a certain amount and then you have to pay more in taxes but your benefit is never reduced. Mutual fund income is not earned income so you are just a liar.

Fox News Viewers Know Less Than People Who Don't Watch Any News: Study
Fox News viewers are less informed than people who don't watch any news, according to a new poll from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Over 30 execs involved. This is bigger than I thought. Now wonder Duke was forced out suddenly.
Saw that piece. Genius at work. In five years Amazon is going to be delivering packages in 30 minutes by drone while WMTs big new idea is to have Vern from the trailer court down the road pick up a couple packages to deliver when he goes to WMT. They probably will never make it to the buyer though because Vern decided he was just going to keep the packages.
If they have any sense they won't put their money in Berkshire. Buffett needs to hang it up. He insists on hanging onto large positions of old worn out stocks like WMT and KO. Those companies are past their prime and in decline. Just look at the performance of Berkshire since the market lows of March 9, 2009. Bershire is even trailing the DOW in that period and the S&P 500 and Nasdaq are blowing Berkshire away. Berkshire is not a good investment anymore and the only thing saving Buffett right now is his reputation from the past. He's over the hill. Just look at that railroad buy. What the hell was that? Coal is a dying business and it meant a big part of business to the rails. Buffett seems insistent to hold onto the dinosaurs of the past and its hurting Berkshire and going to hurt even more in the future. I have a lot of respect for what Buffett did in the past but in the past five years or so, a monkey throwing darts could have made decisions as good as he's made. Time to hang it up Warren. Take up golf or something and spend the rest of your life playing and living like a king off your fortune. Heck, you can even build a private first class golf course anywhere you might want to travel to. You have the money to do whatever you want. Just know when to quit. Its like the 45 year old baseball player who refuses to quit and is just making a fool out of what is just a shell of what he used to be.
Its heart warming to know there are still a lot of great Americans that care about others. One was a pipefitter another a delivery driver another a school teacher and another was a nurse. They said they showed up to support their fellow citizens because everyone who works should make enough to live on and not have to depend on the government to help them. The Wal-Mart workers are getting a lot of backing from people outside the company. People who just care about others which seems to be a disappearing quality in this country. It was a nice story.
The stock wasn't $30 in 2009. The lowest it got was $47 but that has nothing to do with paying people. All they have to do is quit buying back their own stock and that would be enough money to give every worker over a $5 an hour raise. So what if the stock has underperformed the markets for years now its not because of what they pay their workers. Costco pays their workers a much higher wage with much better benefits but their stock is doing well and has done much better then WMT stock. WMT just needs to get some outside management to come in and straighten this company out and run it right. Bringing in another insider for CEO as they are not doing is not the answer.
The image of Wal-Mart is getting worse with the general public. It shows in what now seems to be the continual decline in same store sales. Not going to be a good Christmas season for Wal-Mart. They will sell quite a bitl this weekend but selling stuff and not making profit is not a good business model. The sales will drop off to low levels once the giveaways are gone.
Its not to funny for Wal-Mart. It shows this has gone beyond a worker problem to a public perception problem. People are not happy with what Wal-Mart is doing to this country.
As far as printers go, I won't buy anything but a Brother anymore. Great printers and you can buy print cartridges for it on Amazon for peanuts. Its not Brother cartridges but I've been using them for over two years and they work as good as the name brand cartridges. I've saved enough on ink to pay for the printer three times over.
I agree, it is a very nice product. I guess that's why its the #1 seller on Amazon and from the reviews most people really like it.
A nice up day yesterday and really breaking out today on big volume on a day when overall market volume is very weak because many are on vacation this week. And there's certainly no short squeezing going on. As of October 31, there were only 6000 shares short. Don't know what's about to break but I'm enjoying it.
Remember you have a lot of power because you have the power of the law on your side.
Filing a Wrongful Termination Lawsuit
If you think you have been wrongfully terminated, it's a good idea to seek the advice of an experienced lawyer. As well, a short statute of limitations may apply, so seek advice sooner than later. A wrongful termination lawsuit can be filed either with a government agency that enforces labor laws, or in a private lawsuit. If your employer's violation is related to a specific part of state or federal law, you might want to contact the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Occupational and Safety Hazards Administration, or your state's labor offices.
Wrongful TerminationIf you believe you have been wrongfully terminated, you may have a right to bring a claim for wrongful termination against your former employer. Legal remedies that may be available to you include wrongful termination damages. If you haven't been officially terminated yet, an experienced wrongful termination attorney can help you negotiate an appropriate severance package that includes adequate compensation.
If your employer has violated public or company policy, a private lawsuit is typically the only way to settle disputes. Wrongful termination attorneys often take wrongful employee termination cases on a contingency basis.

They have probably spent millions fighting the fine. Is that the kind of people you would want running your company? Spend millions to try and save $7000. No matter how you approach it the math does not add up.
and losing the war. Their only chance of long term survival is to start treating their workers much better and I see no indication of that. I guess like an alcoholic they need to hit bottom before they realize they need to change.
Well for starters the Phil name you responded to the poster with. And I am the Pope. You are a really bad liar.
