I disagree. When you consider how long Al has been working on this I'm sure he has known who his partner(s) would be for some time and that is why he is so heavily invested in this stock. When in Al's history as a business man has he thrown away a billion dollars? My bet is that he has a partner. No only does he have his money in MNKD so do the institutions. After stage III results were known what did the institutions do? They added to their holdings and that is fact. This board is full of assumptions but the facts are in the SEC filings and the institutions holdings.
Good call on hit piece, it is reassuring that this stock is going to fly because they are trying their best to keep it down.
I'm sure it's a negative and no one has told AL because he has not sold any of his MNKD shares. Boy oh boy, when Al finally finds out about it he is going to be mad. I wonder when someone is going to tell him about it.
If your average cost basis is 3.20 per share and you own 50K shares then you are up $135,000.00. How disheartening, maddening, frustrating, disappointing and heart breaking can it be to be up 135 thousand dollars? I have a hard time feeling sorry for you.
Institutions have been accumulating in a big way as posted by 12/31/14 filings. Look at historical data from 12/31/13 up to now and you will see the volume has only dropped below 4 million shares 4 times. Accumulation is even heavier over the last 2 to 3 weeks as we approach FDA decision. All the posters on this board have a choice follow the money or be left behind. It is that simple.

After reading that earnings call transcript he is already rubbing two sticks together and the shorts are running out of water trying to put the sparks out.
Pfg you like to do research, what percent of the time when Deerfield chooses to convert all to stock does a partnership happen? Also, what percent of the time when Deerfield chooses to convert to all stock does FDA approval occur? These would be nice tid bits to know.
Inst. numbers for Nasdaq are from 12/31/13 filings. Count inst. holdings add in AL Mann's holdings and you get roughly 900 million invested in MNKD based on share value. Since 12/31/13 the share price has gone up roughly 10% in value 5.20/share to 5.70 per share and during this same time frame the shares short has increased from 47 million to 57 million, so I think we can all see where this thing is headed. The top is about to blow.
The beauty of having no news till April is that for every share retail investors pick up between now and April that is one less available for the big boys. When April news hits, it will be a triple and eventually more for the small fish in the big ocean.
Look for many more large volume spikes as the shorts begin to cover. We have had multiple in the last few days of trading. Just check the 5 day chart.
The new Inst. numbers are coming in and it does not look good for shorts. Vanguard added 1.1 mil., Black Rock added 663 K, Barclays added 899 K, Northern Trust added 100 K, Bank of NY added 31, Wells Fargo added 32 K, Black Rock group added 56 K
