Sales of diet soda have declined nearly 7 percent in the past year, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The Journal, which first reported the drop in sales, also reported that sales of regular soda have dropped 2.2 percent over the same time period. The finding comes from a Wells Fargo analysis of Nielsen scanner data that includes drink purchases made up until Nov 23.
Mega pack were not on the floor during the Black Friday week at let's say 25-20% of the stores. I saw it personally but that's a small sample. Maybe just the Northeast. Folks are inclined to buy the Mega pack because it comes with a 25$ gift card. I see the late display of Mega packs juicing WMT sales. we shall see.
15 in a day yesterday at one store Marysville, WA... Aurora, WA sold 7 yesterday when I called. Based on Historic info this bodes well. Small sample but 15 in a day on a weekday 2 weeks before xmas is awesome. we shall see. This was with about 2-3 hours left in the selling day at these costco's . This is without demo's also since they only do them sporadically on the weekend. Last year all Costco had demo's during the xmas selling season.
GMCR had an installed base of 12 Million when they did a deal with SBUX. They have NO soda machine and the one they are coming out with will have a limited market due to it's price. Since they want to be clever and have a refrigerated machine you are looking at $199 price tag. With sodastream they are 10 years down the road with 8 Million users on a global basis. GMCR brings NOTHING to the table IMO. I really don't see KO doing anything until Sodastream captures 3-4% at home market share in the USA. What they will do is anyone's guess.
What benefit does GMCR bring to the table? Please explain... Why would KO want to share anything of their revenue stream with a company that sells coffee machines.
Just like GMCR.... Why do they need GMCR and share any revenue stream? What benefit does GMCR bring to the table??? anyone. Yes they have lots of people that use a Keurig. But what else?
200 price machine are you serious. Soda has the aquabar which is what they are talking about. How big i s the market for $175-200 macine. With NO customization in terms of adding syrup more co2 less co2 etc
Actually when the GMCR machine is released I'm confident the Sodastream every day price will be $50 for the Jet Model or new machine they are coming out with. GMCR is a day late and a buck short.... Good Luck
GMCR is talking about a refrigerated device that would cost upwards of $199..... Think Vue and RIVO.... Good Luck.... The CEO mentioned the beverage would need to come out cold.... Hence the refrigerated device and electrical.
