this deal, and pumpers want to spin this as a positive? lmao!!
a few short weeks ago hastings was implying no such thing would happen as who would dare cross his millions of couch potato users.
oh boy, this is going to get good
and Reid Hastings thought he was just going to keep using the pipes he doesn't own like a utility he doesn't have to pay for. Reid thinks there IS a such thing as a free lunch. welcome to the real world, Reid, you pompous bag of flatulence
i predict this will be spun as a sign of desperation for the cable companies, that nflx is winning the war, and that the only way for cable to survive is to buy nflx at $1000/share. LOLOL
hack articles. Someone's short position must be in a world of hurt.
the likes of google and priceline actually have earnings that give them a pricey but not unreasonable CURRENT (not forward) PE in the 30s for the growth they're getting.
then you have nflx, and we won't even talk about valuation because it doesn't matter. at least not for now
Of course the lines can't be denied. But that depends on location. I've lived in two large east coast cities and you never see lines out the door in these locations. One also can't deny the history of restaurant fads. Today's fad is tomorrow's so-so. Restaurant fads come and go. Some survive and become stable companies. But none sustain what CMG is now seeing. None.
to pay debts. is nflx too big to fail?
shhhhhhhhhhh!!! please do not spoil the party. we don't want to hear that nflx has an enron-like balance sheet.
do you hear me!!
ouch ouch ouch
NFLX on the other end. Why? Because those same ISPs want to sell customers upgraded bandwidth packages that cost more. Really? That's six of one or a half-dozen of the other. Either way it's going to cost the user more. And that's assuming that ISPs don't charge on the front end - an assumption Hastings seems to be making.
The notion that an ISP is going to be happy about a cord-cutter going without lucrative cable service but buying a less lucrative upgrade on bandwidth package is laughable. Hastings' and many in the analyst community are underestimating the hazards wishing they'd go away.
before NFLX is a me too service. Then what will the valuation be?
Both Hulu and AMZN have much deeper pockets behind them.
trying to get its head above water
and low single digit comps for 2014. Hope they keep up with the building program because the old stores aren't doing it for them.
Where is the earnings forecast for 2014?
the idiots are those who believed the #$%$ Obama was spewing about his health care plan and euphemistically calling it the Affordable Care Act. Obama is a BS artist supreme. your rates are typical to what is happening
Nancy Pelosi: we need to pass the bill to find out what's in it
and people still vote for these jackwagon liberal democrats
the pundits, analysts, and every other knowitall can cast all the future earnings projections they want. they'll bail in a new york minute if the next earnings report falls flat. buy and hold investing left the market years ago
