EDAP Announces Reimbursement of HIFU Treatment for Prostate Cancer by France's Ministry of Health
Strong Recognition of EDAP's HIFU Technology by France's Health Authorities
    GlobeNewswire EDAP TMS SA

LYON, France, April 21, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- EDAP TMS SA (EDAP), the global leader in therapeutic ultrasound, announced today the reimbursement of prostate cancer treatment procedures using High Intensity Focused Ultrasound ("HIFU") by the French health authorities. The French Minister of Social Affairs and Health outlined the acceptance of HIFU treatment for prostate cancer for reimbursement during a visit to the Company's headquarters on April 18, 2014. Such reimbursement is part of an innovative process to further validate breakthrough therapies and to accelerate reimbursement process based on clinical trials and data registries.

Pierre Reboul, EDAP's VP of France's Business Unit, commented, "We are very pleased with the French authorities' decision to grant reimbursement as they recognize the benefits of HIFU technology as a treatment option for prostate cancer. HIFU treatment offers a non-invasive approach to treating prostate cancer that minimizes side effects such as incontinence and impotence, and therefore allows patients to preserve their quality of life. We are grateful for the support of the French Association of Urology ("AFU") for initializing the reimbursement process that led to today's recognition and reimbursement."

Marc Oczachowski, EDAP's Chief Executive Officer, said, "This reimbursement is a major milestone for EDAP and its HIFU technology. This recognition further validates EDAP's HIFU devices for prostate cancer treatment and we look forward to working toward increasing adoption of EDAP's HIFU technology in France and in markets around the world."

Mr. Oczachowski continued, "We were extremely honored to welcome the French Minister of Social Affairs and Health to EDAP's headquarters last Friday. Mrs. Marisol Touraine came to se

EDAP Successfully Completes Preliminary Trial of HIFU in Liver Cancer

    Plan for Second, Larger Trial

LYON, France, Oct 26, 2010 (GlobeNewswire via COMTEX News Network) -- EDAP TMS SA (Nasdaq:EDAP), the global leader in therapeutic ultrasound, reported today successful completion of the first phase of the clinical protocol aimed at evaluating High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) technology in patients with metastatic liver cancer. HIFU has the potential to destroy liver tumors through ablation and to reduce bleeding during surgery.

In an initial preliminary protocol phase, six patients were successfully treated using a newly-developed HIFU tool delivering focused ultrasound to cancerous liver tumors. Clinical results observed fully conformed with those obtained in pre-clinical studies and validated HIFU as being an additional potential option to address liver cancer. More studies need to be implemented and EDAP, together with the clinical team from Lyon-based Centre Leon Berard and INSERM U556, will enter into a second clinical phase that will include a larger number of patients. This study is designed to further validate the performance of this new HIFU instrument in the treatment of liver cancer.

Pr. Michel Rivoire, Head of Digestive Cancer Surgery Department at Centre Leon Berard, Lyon, commented, "The initial phase of this clinical trial allowed us to confirm safety and efficacy of this new powerful device. All our clinical hypotheses have been confirmed and we were pleased to make these preliminary assessments in less than six months. After validation of these results by an external independent committee, we will begin the second phase of this trial that will be designed to demonstrate the ability and precision of this new tool to fully destroy liver tumors without inducing damage to normal surrounding liver parenchyma."

Marc Oczachowski, EDAP Chief Executive Officer, added, "We are very pleased with the p

LYON, France, March 20, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- EDAP TMS SA (EDAP), the global leader in therapeutic ultrasound, announced today that it has completed its response to questions from the FDA regarding the Company's Ablatherm-HIFU Pre-Market Approval ("PMA") application, closing this step within the U.S. Food and Drug Administration ("FDA") review process.

Marc Oczachowski, Chief Executive Officer of EDAP TMS SA, commented, "This is another significant milestone within the FDA approval process for our Ablatherm-HIFU device. As per the standard FDA review timeframe, the next step is an advisory committee meeting that we expect to be held within the next four to six months. We do not believe there will be any further questions related to the filing or additional requests from the FDA prior to the panel meeting. With this step behind us, we are focusing our efforts to be fully prepared for the upcoming panel meeting."

    Good post.
I think that the results are going to be similars than last year( like Q3): 9,5 m #$%$ and -0.06
But the big question for the C.C ( if we don´t have news before the c.c) is if we´ll have an FDA update or not.
And I 100% agree with you , if it doesn´t happen, edap is going to go down.

I´ve been investing in edap during years ( I had shares with the i-move approval 3-4 years ago)..and I´m absolutly agree with "our friend" allsarocky..management is pathetic but absolutly disagree with the share price..we will see 8-10 $ with the approval..
But there is a fact that I didn´t like nothing...each time that Edap breaks an important resistance ( 3,5) makes a big jump...and this time it has been different...too many sellers above 3,5 $....
Probably edap will have a little pull back...we´ll see.

Today we have seen huge orders at the bid between 3,50-3,55 and probably... someone has bought more than 200k.. ( very good signal for the approval) but despite these orders edap couldn't go up ( very bad signal for next sessions)
