I completely agree. Another stretch of time to be patient again. Might even be longer considering Wendy's indicated 2nd qtr earnings are to be below expectstions.
interesting that you should metion Strtatysis. I own shares in XONE. Got in at 7 but you are right, 3D is big risk . You are also right about HP too since they split up the company. HP just came out with their 3D printer just a few weeks ago, so the competition is on.
Can't go wrong with BOA long term. The investment firm I used to work for still likes them as a long term buy. WEN is also still a large position of mine too. Got out at 11, then came back in at 9 with additional purchases up from there.
I expect another divy increase by year end.
looks good so far
these class action lawyers are a disgrace. As a shareholder, there is no case here, IMHO. (but i have been out of the legal profession for a long time, so i could be clueless here.)
I could not agree more. They have to find a way to break out. I wish their earnings would have had better results over the past two years considering how strong they have been in trying everything to turn this company around, but I guess more patience is needed.
Warbucks, what other companies do you like. I am looking for something new to follow with a little more cash I picked up this week. Equity or fixed is fine with me.
Hope it climbs back up further. I guess many saw the decent decline and then jumped in. Made a nice little unrealized gain with the DRIP. Timing could not have been better.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
i here ya on the Wawa kiosk. They are, in my view, fantastic! Works like a charm. Love all the options when selection your food items. And they are quick!
I don't get the obsessive/compulsive fruit-loop that goes around and trolls message boards needing to place thumbs down on everyone's posts. Reminds me of the guy who goes into supermarkets and has to squeeze loaves of bread!
Just cant help himself!
What I find interesting is that WEN has had a new implemented business plan since 2012 which takes time over the long term in order to meet their objectives/goals. They have put upon themselves to turn this company around to sustainable growth potentials for the long term. The CNBC analyst claims its an issue with menu, not weather. Weather may have been a factor but I am hard pressed to believe it is menu items. They have the most creative LTOs out there and still have a strong LTO pipeline according to the conference call.
This stock has gone from mid $4s since early 2012 when old management lost their way after DT passed away, and since then it has grown to hit $11 plus a share over four years since Peltz got on board with Trian. I have no complaints understanding the risk of investing on a questionable turnaround program, but the hyena beats the cheetah and the turtle beats the hare over the long term in this hamburger race.
You cannot compare McDonald's to Wendy's just because they sell burgers. It's like comparing a small mom and pop hardware store to Lowe's/Home Depot. I invested in Wendy's knowing there would be ups and downs over the implementation of every aspect to the turnaround program, e.g., Image Activation, a Cut Above, System Optimization, new menu ideas, shareholder buybacks, dividend increases over time, etc., but they are delivering on what they promised and those who are short term traders show their impatience with this company by emotionally selling because or projected weak 2Q estimates. I will take a weak projected quarter any day for a company that is banging on all cylinders, especially when they put out a strong 1Q report.
A hamburger chain is a tough act to mange, but I will take Wendy's over Burger King, McDonald's, and any other burger chain, any day of the week. I bought in low in early 2012 and have seen my patience help to contribute to well over a %150 return and I see it going further over the next few years. My 2 cents.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
I am absolutely beside myself with the swing to negative today. I am at a total loss for a rational explanation. Strong quarter, but apparently no good enough. Manipulators are having their way. Us longs just take it and hope for another good quarter. Hamburger business is a tough sell.
