It would seem to me that the Fed has now caught themselves in a Catch-22 situation.
Todays report of a 3.7 GDP number for the 2nd Quarter runs contrary to any notion that there is no urgency in raising rates by 25 basis points next month.
Furthermore, if the CBO's revised number for 2015 at 2.0 is correct, it would seem to indicate that the only way to be able to average down to that level would mean the 3rd and 4th Quarters will be dismal with many companies missing their estimates.
You can't have it both ways!
The reason you are seeing or should see a rally at open is because China cut rates over night and added liquidity
However, futures early morning was over 600 points on the DOW, but now has dropped to the 300 level.
What the day brings is any ones guess!

Greece bank failures affect EU banks and they affect US banks.
Whatever happens will have some consequence to the value of the US dollar in relationship to other currencies... if the dollar gets stronger then companies such as Hon ad GE continue to suffer.

I am tired of self-established guidelines which cover each division separately. When a division is in the mode of reducing it`s sales force, changing suppliers, and already reports shotcomings because of oil prices, Euro exchange rates, business market is in a know cyclical down turn......the out come is easy to predict.
Motivate employees you say!!!
This is not a motivation leason for success, but rather for failure.
Instead, why not compensate for all the known variables and measure the corporation as a whole and devy it out accordingly.
That way when employees fall to be recognized for the corporations results, people like Mike will be held accountable. (at least by the general population of employees)

I think it was year before last that Hon contributed 3% of your base pay in stock. That lasted one year and then here comes "success sharing", and have yet to see a penny.

We will give you little or nothing up front.
We will however give you a large percentage for making the criteria of meeting certain goals, ie; revenue, orders, delivery, quality, etc,etc.
The problem is that they have stripped various function like sales, and created (self-inflected) supply delivery problems by outsourcing to areas like China.
For the second year in a row, many have postponed year-end vacations so as to help push these numbers in hope of making the criteria necessary to recieve our "success sharing" dollars. All for naught.
Promises were made to notify employees by the end of January of our success......no word yet!
REX....and still waiting with the other 1400 employees.
o give it up now. In addition, the investors have spoken---it`s a done deal unless the EU squeels loud enough to throw a wrench into the works---but then again, that would not involve IC, simply aerospace related businesses.
