Nokia Cut to Hold From Buy by Societe Generale.
They just upgraded the stock? They are awful, running for the exits like they would do if they were at war.
These guys are a total joke, I bet you follow their advice, buy all the stocks when they say, sell when they say and in one year or two you are down to your last 10% of the original money invested.
This company is indeed a case to study, I was long, made 30-40% profit in half my shares in just a few days and the other half barely broke even the next day for waiting on earnings release. I been containing myself from buying now, the stock has broken every support possible and might not be the case but I see it eventually at $6, even lower if growth does not come back and keep losing money. Is just a wait and see company for now, no one wants to hold this, is dead money, reason why keeps going lower. $6 is $2 and change more to go, I think is either a buy at $6 or back over $11 if things improve. The Flash Karma is claiming another victim.
This could be very good for Nokia Here and future royalties licensing, Microsoft giving the software free to OEM's would mean really price free, lawsuits free, liability free, not like Android witch is in legal limbo, licenses are being paid per device sold and more lawsuits in the pipeline with no end in sight.
Could this really stop Google? I think it has a huge chance if Microsoft does play it very aggressively it can shrink Android's market share faster than it rose to dominance.
So how about this:
A heavy customized Android OS for low price Asha line that includes:
Nokia Here Maps
Bing Default Search Engine.
Nokia or in this case Microsoft Store, just like Amazon.
Google software would be limited to You Tube.
This would be beneficial to Nokia for sure and to some extent even Microsoft. Of course Google does not like to see their OS customized to the point that forced and has signed agreements with ODM's in Asia where these companies are BANNED to produce customized Android OS phones where Google software is not included but in this case Nokia/Microsoft would have their own factories so nothing Google can do. Would Microsoft be willing to play this type of game?
If u just read yahoo finance news under Nokia, The new Asha line with a tailored Android OS ala Amazon, with Here maps, etc is now being confirmed by Tom Warren who has pretty good Microsoft inside info. The only thing regrettable is an early release of this phone using Android would have put pressure in Microsoft to pay more for the handset division. The project indeed exists, with hundreds of developers hired by Nokia in China, not sure it will ever go into production but Nokia technically needs to keep plan B in place till the deal is finalized.
Yeah, look it at this way:
The French ARREST( tourists and do a big show about it ) with fake Luis Vuitton purses or Lacoste apparel, teaching them a lesson is counterfeiting and intellectual property and this frog now is yelling to Nokia to be careful to enforce what is theirs??
Only the French!..
good, is just a confirmation of how powerful the patents are and how the frenchy are too, they will likely "surrender" against Nokia patents very soon.
just wondering, where is the west coast of Brazil?
Please short the stock big time, the reason we are stuck is cause all cover their #$%$ losing a bunch and we practically have at least in the US no shorts, maybe in Europe cause of bond trading strategies.
Anyway please do short the stock, that is what we need.
man I am falling behind on those, have not seen any upgrades today but u don't post bull so I believe it.
We just got to be patient we rode the storm, lets wait to see what the future holds. I think if MSFT names Elop as CEO Nokia is going to rally. I am sure he would love to have HERE maps.
lol , u still around!, you have no shame pal. Go hide under a rock.
You are missing the point completely. Android will lose the advantage it had, being free. The license fees a couple of years down the road if that long for every unit sold by OEMs can be anything from $10 to $20. Java is just another case of Android's infringement.
More from our friend at Foss Patents, Google might be heading for another toll in that "Android free software" road.
Android will be a very expensive "free" OS in a couple of years once all the royalties are being paid to every single patent holder. the list is pretty large and Google does not seem to be winning anything either in the software or hardware side witch should benefit Nokia as it will be one of those getting royalties and/or by increasing Windows Phone sales for Here maps.
Is got to be sell the news syndrome as the US approved the sale, in any case is overdue some correction or we wont go higher, too much pressure at that $8 or 6 Euro area.
Settlement pressure on HTC is increasing significantly after Justice Arnold of the England and Wales High Court ordered an injunction against HTC's Android-based devices based on EP0998024 on a "modular structure for a transmitter and a mobile station", a mobile phone hardware patent that he found valid and infringed by HTC'various HTC products including its current flagship, the HTC One, in an October 30 ruling.
The injunction is "final" as far as the High Court is concerned, but Justice Arnold granted HTC permission to appeal ("albeit on more limited grounds than HTC had sought permission in respect of") and a stay of the injunction "pending the judgment of the Court of Appeal". HTC has until 4 pm UK time on December 6 to apply to the Court of Appeal for permission to appeal against Justice Arnold's "refusal of a wider stay".
More as always at FossPatents with Mr Mueller great objective reporting
Microsoft and Nokia deal, to regulators is like combining a lemonade stand and a hot dog vendor in a world of Coca-Cola and McDonalds. This is a done deal, folks, I don't even waste my time reading anything to the contrary.
Require? Go back to the drawing board and find another reason, this time a valid one as to why NOK can't go to double digits, was is "required" not to.....
