I agree, great presentation. Already had a substantial position in this company and I boosted it today!
Bidding 12.01. Lot of strength here.
KIOR - losses forever, no thanks. SZYM, although not an OPEC alternative, is still a very interesting company for the "food and life" part of their slogan due to their ability to precisely engineer organic molecules.
On their home page in big letters at the top "Renewable oil - for fuel, for food, for life"! The first one for FUEL! But now that I've done my DD I can understand why you say they are not in the fuel business.
I was looking at the total energy equation of all inputs. SYZM needs sugar, right? Can sugar appear without farms and all the other things I mentioned? Agree soy like oil is something different, my interest was in an OPEC alternative.
Thanks. Looks like a harvest of one acre of sugarcane could produce about 7 barrels of of fuel oil per acre / year if a year to grow the crop? And how much water, fertilizers, fuel to run the tractors, pesticides if any, harvest, crush, transport, etc. Not sure I like the numbers in the face of the shale oil boom. Backed off, took profits on the lucky pop, still have exposure some to some $7.50 puts I wrote in case the stock pulls back in the fall.
The presentation shows Diamond Guard is less scratch resistant than glass ("good" versus "very good"). IMO, means high end companies like Apple will never use it.
In the conveyor belt of time, you can only grab what is in front of you. If you always for the future you have nothing in the present.
How much raw sugar will be needed to produce a barrel of SZYM's main oil product once their large scale projects are up an running? Tia
Meant low-rez (low resolution)
Rectangles frequently appear in low-reg compressed jpeg images due to pixel rounding.
Sometimes when there is smoke, there really is a fire.
Volume has been quite normal. Not sure what you're talking about.
The BORG assimilates again. Resistance is futile. May indirectly boost solar farm cos. (SPWR, FSLR).
"Striving to have product on shelf by Christmas". That's forever! Forever is a long long time.
There are many, many methods of energy-storage, but none are neat compact little systems and I don't know of any pure plays. I suspect batteries and fuel cells come closest. Energy storage can be a simple as pumping water from a lower pond to an upper pond when there is sun and then running the water down past a generator during darkness. Wiki describes, chemical, biological, electrochemical, mechanical and thermal methods.
At $56.04, IPGP stock is down 20.1% from the $70.11 intra-day peak set last February. Long term I continue to think this is a great investment and am holding on to my position, in fact I recently added around the current prices.
Initiated with an Overweight at Stephens per "Fly on the Wall". Nice pop so far today, currently 112.97 + 4.76, will continue to hold for the long term.
From what I understand, Yandex's business / operational offices and virtually all of their employees are in Russia, Yandex N.V. was set up as Netherlands corporate law is held in very high regard worldwide and presumably made the IPO a lot easier. Yandex still pays Russian taxes.
Our government at work investigating the best corporations. Apple yesterday, Google today, Federal Trade Commission looking at anti-trust stuff re: GOOG, announced near the close.
