dturpin1, you are so right. But the dividend will eventually get bigger and I think a split will be coming. Disney is a great stock to own because the competition is 0. I can also be stuck on a deserted island somewhere and not be worried about what my Disney stock is doing. Nokia caused me a great amount of pain and stress, I lost sleep and thought about it day and night. I feel bad Nokia longs because while everything is going up, investors who threw in money this time last year are losing money, and I believe it will continue to come down some more. But to each his own.
farhan, this is why I got out last year. The rumors that Nokia was going after ALU made me head out. You mention 2-3 years, even after that nothing is for certain. With the way technology keeps changing, I wouldn't be surprised if Ericsson buys Juniper or something a long those lines. Best advice I can give to longs on here, invest in companies with very little competition who care for shareholders. I'm in Disney right now, they buy back their shares all the time, Iger is an impressive CEO and every move he makes has been doing nothing but adding value to the company almost immediately. If you don't like Disney, fine, there are other companies out there better than Nokia. I truly believed Nokia was making the right move after selling devices, buying the other half of NSN, and licensing the Nokia names on other products, but this has done very little to share price.
