I have to admit i made a lot of fun of all those new names the weathermen came up with to describe what was no more than cold weather. This year it's "El Nino" I don't know how that one will play out but no mater what they want to call it? It always comes down to the age old question of Supply and Demand
You still don't get my deranged sense of humor LOL I understand your reasoning, I exited my position on Friday after going over the last few weeks worth of trades and realized that i was wasting my time trying to catch the bottom and a few bucks when i had been doing good consistently trading oil and Bio's. At some point i will probably enter in to another position but i am going to wait until i see something that changes the trend. In my office (Ground Zero) i have a few quotes on the wall. One that's above my desk is; Delusional, Doing the same thing Time after time and expecting a different Outcome. That is what trying to catch the bottom in NG has been for Many and i am not going to join that Herd. GL
I have been trading energy for twenty years and my dad retired in the 90's from Cantor Fitzgerald under Howard Lutnick and the BCG international division but i am sure i am not as qualified as you are so why don't you put down your background in the Energy sector and your trading experience and while your at it why don't you let us know what your other alias are before this recent one week old one was? GL2ALL
Don't pay any attention to the geniuses. I have been trading full time over twenty years and learned a long time go to stick with what you feel comfortable with. Any major news will be most likely in after hours and stop loses and trailing stops don't work in that time slot so if you are happy with what you made than don't look back. Besides we could see some profit taking after a 25% move. GL Mike
You don't have a very large risk tolerance do you. I didn't watch NG trade today but it looks like it didn't get much momentum going. I have decided to stop cutting any more Xmas trees this year since the market is weak and the great part is they will be worth more next year. My mom said that they only sold half of what they usually have sold by this weekend in VT so it is not just a southern problem. People are just not in the Christmas mood with all this warm weather. It is over 60 degrees in my yard right now
That is cheap for Ca. It has been a while but the last time i was out there i paid just under $5.00/gal for it and it was almost $6.00 in Yosemite.
Terry Lundgren was the same guy who bought all of that winter wear that he is now stuck with so while i don't disagree, I wouldn't be using him as your weather guru LOL
I understand, No one ever went broke taking a profit. I trade energy so this is a speck trade for me. What i usually do when making a trade like you did was keep all/some of the profit in shares, GL2ALL
I bought this a bit early at 26.05 but thought it would make a great speck trade. CLVS could get back to 60.00 with just one good bit of news so i am just going to hang on to this one and take a chance rather than a trade GL2ALL
I exited my NG trade friday. with a small loss. I did good on my first trade and on the puts i sold so all and all i am up a little but i am going to stick to oil until i see something to change my overall opinion on NG I caught two moves in DWTI of over 10 pts this week so why even take my attention away from that to catch a quarter in NG? When i stopped and thought about it i am crazy to deviate from whats been working so well. I wish you luck though and i am sure at some point i will be back in NG, i may sell some more UNG Puts if we get to the $8.00 Range GL
Atleast you didn't buy NG long when you dropped your DGAZ. Some have been buying UGAZ since the mid to high 7's and are still chasing it down. I read one persons post who said they will buy "This down till i am Broke" That was in the mid 5's So missing some stinks but it sure beats the alternative. GL
Heard this morning that Oct and so far Nov are the warmest in last 250 years. The reason for Global warming may be in dispute but the fact that something is changing can not. I live on the highest mtn on the East Coast (Mt Mitchell) and we have had but a handful of frost so far. Last year i had over 18" of snow that stayed until spring. This year the spring flowers are starting to come up. It really sucks for a guy that lives to ski GL
I really don't think people realize how much NG is out there. I still hear people talk about the numbers in 2014 like that $6.50 is possible again in the near future. I bought a little last week looking for a pop on Wednesday and when that didn't happen i threw in the towel with a small loss but still a loss. At some point i do see a relief rally but it is going to take some really cold weather to get NG to move any amount. GL2ALL
I have been trading it but not short. I never short any Bio companies. All you have to do to keep your shares from being lent out is put in a sell order at any price with a GTC tag on them. Great to see you back Goodoptday! GL2ALL
Ethanol is one of the worse ideas that i have seen in a long time. To start; Why would anyone want to use a food supply to produce fuel is beyond me. It has been proven that it takes more energy to produce ethanol than it saves. The whole con was started by the politicians in the corn belt to get the price of their grain up to their constituents. I use a lot of Chainsaws and i have had to replace just about every fuel line every year because the ethanol has drys out all the lines until they crack. Now that oil is so cheap ethanol is adding to the cost of Gasoline instead of the savings of it that it was intended. It is time to put an end to it for good.
I have been watching the bonds looking for a sign that the banks are finally going to cut back funding. The day i see that is the day i go all in
Great question that my son and i have great debates over. We look at time in such a skewed view 1000-10,000 is forever when in reality 100,000 years in nothing. My son thinks we will be here for ever but i have to disagree.
If the oil industry pros have not been able to call this right over the last couple of years, i doubt a bunch of bankers can. This is going to end when no one expects it. These kind of events always do. GL
I hope you are feeling better and may you and your family be blessed with good health and that you all have a great Holiday. Mike
How true; For every winner there is a loser. The real story is for every one we physically killed. A hundred more died from disease and that number is suppose to be much lower than the actual. I live in the mountains just outside of Asheville NC. The Property where i grow my Xmas Trees boarders on the Cherokee Reservation. I can still introduce you to some who will not accept a Twenty Dollar Bill just because of Andrew Jackson picture. So as long as it has been; it is far from forgotten.
