From Tampa Bay Times
CLEARWATER — Sears Auto Center has closed at Westfield Countryside mall.
It is rumored to become Pinellas County's first Nordstrom Rack, a popular discount offshoot of the fashion department store.
A mall spokesman said a new tenant was taking over the space but couldn't release the name.
The closure is part of Sears' plan nationwide to lease some of its property to other retailers in a move to trim cuts and boost cash flow.
The Sears Auto Center in Clearwater is one of several area auto centers available for lease, according to Sears Holdings Management Corp. Sears has auto centers at Sears and Kmart stores.

From Tampa Bay Times:
CLEARWATER — Sears has a new roommate at Westfield Countryside mall. It sells grass-fed beef, organically grown produce and made-to-order paninis. Whole Foods Market opens Sept. 24 in what used to be part of the Sears store's first floor. It will be the first Whole Foods in Pinellas County and third in the Tampa Bay region.
Sears leased the space to the natural-food grocer as part of the department store's push to shed low-performing, excess space and boost cash flow. Consider it like renting out a room of your house after getting laid off. During tough times, every bit helps.
Sentiment: Strong Buy

Well the judge in the Stockton bankruptcy filing seemed a little skeptical of Calpers assertion that the city must continue to make full pension payments or face a $1 billion liability. If he ultimately rules Calpers claims are on par with every other creditor's claims, Calpers is going to have to rethink things a little bit.
Yeah I'd have to agree with you on that. I think management's attitude is they're just managing a shrinking business. They get excited that the numbers weren't worse.
Look harder. Company just announced last week that they just received final regulatory approval. Said deal would close in early May.
Has to be the marketplace area of the store. Every time I stop at the Arlington Heights store that part of it is packed. The rest of the store not so much.
