That's what I said a few months ago after the last cc. That it would be mid-year before they released E&A and I still say it will be late Nov. or Dec. before they release DOT. I didn't make it up when I said that, I thought that's what DM was really saying between the lines in the, later in the year comment at the last cc. Unfortunately, we will languish for many months if we choose to stay in. I'm in @ $2.95 avg. with lots of shares. Hindsight huh? Should have sold out before the Pincus news @ $2.85.
Almost a third of the way through the year and nothing released yet. I don't know how DM could have explained that away if they didn't come with 6-10 as promised. I think we drifted up 2 cents on the GLUU momentum.
If they don't launch E&A like right now, soon people will lose interest in the game. You can only hold back to build anticipation for so long, then you lose the public's attention. That's why 15 second cat videos on YouTube get so many views, because the avg. attention span is about 15 seconds. Meanwhile, the DOW is up 230 points and we are down five cents. How about some good news for a change from the management? For us stock holders it's always speculation. And once again the theory holds true for ZNGA. You just can't buy the stock cheap enough if you're adding to a position, because it always falls further. Shameful.
It looks like just you and I ventured a guess on the overs and unders. It will interesting to see the results.
I say two. E&A eventually and a re-tool of an old game. For all we know they could have brought out 20 games this year already, and we wouldn't know about any of them. It's not like they spend a dollar on advertising. I wonder how many employees they could cut back on, in PR? Or, maybe that's the issue, they don't have anyone in PR.
I have to agree with fox on this one. When news first came out of the NFLSD and TW games, I posted that in my opinion, TW is Mr. Irrelevant. He did have an amazing career, but not the type you create games around. I mentioned this as well. How about more interactive games like a Dancing with the Stars or a Voice competition game? I don't watch reality TV, but those shows have endured for years, and you don't limit your mobile game to golfers that really like what TW was, but wouldn't spend time and money on him playing his game. BTW, I'm curious. Does anyone know what the galley size was like that followed TW this weekend? Probably big I would assume.
Hey search, is this what you were referring to? "I am returning to the company that I love in order to accelerate innovation in the most popular categories like Action Strategy and strengthen our focus on our core areas like Invest and Express," Pincus said. "I look forward to partnering with our leaders to intensify our focus on social experiences for the millions of consumers who play our games." This from the Street article here on yahoo business under the ZNGA symbol.
I must have missed the "accelerate" part that Pincus said. It will be interesting to see if he's serious or just giving lip service to appease the market. Obviously, anything this guy says isn't taken at face value anymore.
My question was, does the change in CEO also changes the amount of games to market that DM stated at the last cc? I never said that it was anything else other than earnings that brought the pps down to $2.20. I agree 100% that was the cause of the drop. I also didn't like DM because of his "kick the can down the road" mentality. I'm good with DM out, but not with Pincus being in. His departure precipitated the increase in pps when DM first took over. Too many kinky moves by Pincus, and he reeks of it. Hence all of the articles yesterday stating the same from the investment houses and the people that run those funds. One more thing. If it was strictly an anticipation move over E&A and the eventual release of DoT that got us to $2.90, then momentum may have finally been on our side. Then Pincus.
It was DM that stated that Zynga would bring 6-10 games to market in 2015, at the last cc. Now with him gone, is that expectation gone too? Pincus can always say that Mattrick promised on something he couldn't deliver and, we might only get E&A this year. That would be a major disaster for the pps. It makes me sick that it took six months to hit $2.90 and Pincus tanks it in one day. What a major tool.
That was part of his parachute. He steps aside and makes it look like it was good move for Zynga and he gets his full package under a "constructive termination" as they termed it. Worth about 17 million.
I think Pincus wants to run the company. Otherwise, why wouldn't he find a replacement for DM before they cut him loose?
Pincus has to love this vote of confidence for him. Huge volume. Too bad it's not for some good news. BTW, have you guys seen all the new names of the goof balls on this board after the announcement? Where is that rock quarry that they crawl out from underneath the rocks? Pretty bizarre.
It will be interesting to see if there is a mass exodus that follows Mattrick. I'm sure they're under contract, but then so was he. I'm not sorry to see him go, but I am disgusted to see Pincus back as CEO. I wonder why they parted ways? Anyway, I'm still in negative territory too. I'm afraid after tomorrow, more so. I own 23,000 shares avg. @ $2.95, so I was pretty close to even. I see a 50 cent drop tomorrow unless there is some positive news. Not a spin, but actual news.
Now it's cut that in half. I wonder if and when, Zynga will give us good news instead of bad news and turmoil?
Typical up on no news. This company leaks more insider info than any I've ever seen. And yes, I agree 100%. DM had to go, but I can't believe Pincus came back. Good move rossi in my opinion. I wish I had bailed today and moved on. Down 50 cents tomorrow or when it resumes trading.
I hope you're right on that call. I know you've been saying that for a long time, and I disagreed. But maybe just maybe it could happen. Anything is better than Pincus back in charge in my opinion.
Now with Pincus in a law suit and all that he's done to bring down the pps of ZNGA stock, this is going to be ugly. They threw 57 million at Mattrick and I'm not sorry to see him go. I am really sorry to see Pincus back. Down 50 cents tomorrow. I wish I had gotten out today. Zynga is total misery month after month and year after year. This sucks.
I hate to be pessimistic because I need the pps to go way up like most of us here. But like I've been saying for so long, up on no news and down on no news. So this up could very well just be a head fake and won't sustain. All of the irrational rah rah and somebody knows something, makes no sense.to me.
