I am still quite amazed that DRYS fell -4.26% when Eagle Bulk Shipping went up a little on light volume.
For what it is worth, I have been chatting with shipping brokers all day and they expect this week to be pretty dead and the BDI Index from their perspective will just remain roughly where it is. They expect next week for it to creep up as plans are made for after the Chinese come back from their New Year's holiday. If this is true, maybe we can get back to $4 or slightly above. Hopefully, the ATM won't keep crashing this stock down.

Let's hope up again tomorrow and more than just 10 points.
If they do, they will lose future investment banking business. It is extremely rare for any analyst to pub a sell rating. Very, very rare. A downgrade, but not a sell. Le't see what happens in 1-2 weeks.
Patience depends when you bought the stock. If you bought it 5-6 years ago at $100 range, you will never see 90% of your money back. If you bought it in July at $1.50 range, you are already over 100%.
In the two weeks after I bought this #$%$, most of the biopharmas that I bypassed jumped 50-200%. I can't believe it.
Nu Skin’s growth in its Greater China unit, which includes Hong Kong and Taiwan, has been particularly rapid. Sales there more than tripled in the three-month period ending Sept. 30, accounting for the bulk of the company’s total 76 percent revenue gain for the quarter. Mainland China alone accounted for 30 percent of Nu Skin’s $2.16 billion in revenue during the first nine months of 2013, Hunt said.
The country’s market is particularly ripe for Nu Skin’s anti-aging products. The United Nations has forecast the population of people aged 65 and older there will increase by about 66 million from 2015 to 2025.
In China, Nu Skin’s more than 40,000-person salesforce pushes weight-loss kits and skin cleansers in at least 19 of the 32 provinces and municipalities.
So it was a big blow to shareholders’ confidence when the state-run Chinese newspaper said Nu Skin brainwashes trainees and sells more products than allowed. The State Administration for Industry and Commerce said it will probe the company’s operations. The company has said the People’s Daily allegations and government inquiry are likely to hurt revenue.
I wish they would do a press release of how much they already have sold. I think that would alleviate the selling pressure and make the stock jump. With the huge volume the first week of January, there could be a possibility they already have sold $100 million of new shares. If so, and they announce this, it could jump start the shares. Some days we saw 10 million - 20 million more shares traded than average and at average of $4/share in first week of January, that could have been $80 million in just 1-3 days of trading they collected if they sold on this days.
the ATM has been running since December 29th or so. I am sure they sold most of it already above $4. I can believe they are still doing it now.
Game over guys.
Why did DRYS fall -4.26% and started falling right at the open and in the last hour, the volume INCREASED and fell another 8 cents from $3.90 to $3.82?
Why did this occur if the BDI index went up even if just up some +1.8% and the tankers also went up in shipping rates? Doesn't make sense.
Can you write with paragraphs and clear sentences? It is so difficult to read with how you write in dense packed sentences that are incomplete and difficult to understand/follow.
I am surprised that ANR, Walter Energy (WLT) and other mining companies in coal and iron ore where prices continue to fall are recommended as buys. if those companies had not been able to refinance at much lower interest rates, they would be in bankruptcy by now.
It is scary how many people are bullish and reports are we are at record MARGINs now. That is the scary part.
I still don't understand why there was so much confusion, and why there were so many articles about the VICL management buying shares. The original SEC files specifically state that these "Shares were acquired pursuant to a restricted stock grant and generally vest one-third on the first anniversary of the grant, with the
remainder vesting quarterly over the remaining two years." Would these stipulations exist if they were actually bought on the open market at market price? Not to mention the title of the stock was "Common Stock $.01 par value". So yes Vical made an error and put $1.42 instead of $0.01 but if people had just taken a second to look at the actual filing they would have realized what the filing actually was instead of jumping on the "Insider Buys I must write an article about it" bandwagon.
With that being said I'm quite impressed that the share price actually held up today and there wasn't a serious sell off with crazy volatility. Perhaps it's because Singer still owns 10%, or the fact that Vijay and company will only get their excess bonuses based on performance or maybe VICL has finally turned around and has found a new bottom.
What a disaster buying DRYS has been. I remember the board moron bragging purchased at $4.44 and the stock has been going down ever since.
In the interim, I have seen almost all the biopharma stocks NVAX, MACK, IDIX, etc. have been going up more than 100%. What a disaster buying DRYS has been for so many people.
JRMILLS0014. What is the purpose of posting at great length on this board? You know they don't read or listen to you.
Do you know you write in such a dense manner and with incomplete or run-on sentences that it is difficult to understand completely what you are trying to write?
Not off a lot, just $2 and so percentage-wise, not a lot to drop this -4.26%
I did see that huge swing in volume just briefly from $4.00 to 4.13 and then back down in just 30 minutes. Shoulda woulda coulda and now it may take 1-2 weeks just to get back to $4
