  • Harry has posted Charts of the Day video on VDSI at TheTechTrader site noting: VASCO Data Security International (VDSI), a recent swing trade of ours, which has been acting very well. It had an explosive move back in May, coiled for a while, and then broke out. It then pulled back in a corrective move, but did not break support, or the trendline. The nice run that it’s had since the beginning of July from 10.72 to almost 15 on Tuesday continues with another 2% gain, up 29 cents, and reached a new high. It appears to have the energy to make it all the way up towards the 19-20 zone, which is the secondary target. The short-term target is 17.

  • Harry has posted Charts of the Day video on BDSI at TheTechTrader site noting: Enphase Energy, Inc. (ENPH) is one of the stocks we looked at here on Monday, and it did follow through a little on Tuesday, up 24 cents, or 1.8%, on 721,100 shares traded. It’s not the best follow-through, nor the best volume, but, nevertheless, it moved up through the mid-channel line. At this point, it may very well reach the 17-18 range, if it gets any kind of volume and accelerates.

  • Harry has posted Charts of the Day video on BDSI at TheTechTrader site noting: BioDelivery Sciences International, Inc. (BDSI), one of our swing trades, has also been acting great. It’s been consolidating for several weeks, and finally it made a move to break out on Tuesday, up 62 cents, or 4.6%, on 1.2 million shares. That’s the best volume in about six weeks, taking it across the declining topsline. It closed at 14.01 on Tuesday. Can it take out 14.44? A run-up to mid-channel would be 16-16 1/2, and eventually it could make it to 20.

  • Harry has posted Charts of the Day video on ANET at TheTechTrader site noting: Arista Networks, Inc. (ANET) acted great on Tuesday. The coil that formed has been narrowing over the last week, and it exploded on Tuesday, up 4.49, or 6.37%, on less than a half million shares at 478,100. Most of the action was at the end of the day, so look for a follow-through on Wednesday to move up and test the 80-dollar range.

Harry has posted Charts of the Day video on GRFS at TheTechTrader site noting:Grifols, S.A. (GRFS) couldn’t have had better timing with the breakaway gap to the downside, and then a 4-day bear wedge, which broke on Thursday. It dropped 1.49, or 4.12%, on 650,500 shares traded. The volume didn’t really pick up to the down side. I think the key was after breaking trendline at 34.70, it broke the long-term trendline. This stock may very well test the top of the channel at 32 short-term, and if it really gets going in a downward run, maybe 29.

Harry has posted Charts of the Day video on CAMP at TheTechTrader site noting: CalAmp Corp. (CAMP) is interesting, and a lot of people in the trading room were worried about this stock, but I’m not sure why. It looks pretty ugly to me. Let’s face it, this stock had a huge drop, from the 35 range down to 13 3/4. That only took a couple months. Of course it was going to get some snapback, but the snapback got to key resistance. The moving averages were trying to cross over, and then the stock collapsed again, only to bounce, pullback, and bounce. Each bounce was with low volume and flat technicals. I see no reason to get upset, covering your shorts just yet. The pattern looks like a bear flag per se. Thursday was a minor reversal, getting up to 18.48, closing at 18.07, but down 10 cents on the day. If it picks up speed to the downside, watch the 16 1/2 area, because if that’s taken out, you’re looking at a stock down around 14 3/4, maybe worse.

Harry has posted Charts of the Day video on CMCM at TheTechTrader site noting: Cheetah Mobile Inc. (CMCM) is acting very well, particularly Thursday’s action. Since the IPO in May, it pulled back, had a run-up, then a basing period for a couple of weeks, it broke out on Wednesday, and followed through wonderfully on Thursday, up 2.80, or 12.7%, on 1.4 million shares, closing at a new all-time closing high. Mid-channel target may provide some resistance so it could pull back, but if momentum carries it forward, this could be a 32-33 dollar stock. So the targets are 29-30, and then 32-33.

Harry has posted Charts of the Day video on TRAK at TheTechTrader site noting: Dealertrack Technologies, Inc. (TRAK), which is a Boxer swing, has a head-and-shoulder top, a rising wedge that formed, it broke, came down, and looks like a bear flag is forming. If this is taken out, look for 36 1/4-1/2, and then 31-2 as the next targets.

Harry has posted Charts of the Day video on ININ at TheTechTrader site noting: Interactive Intelligence Group Inc. (ININ) dropped on Wednesday as the bear flag appears to have broken down. It was down 2.12, or 4.63%. Look for a test of 40, and then potentially 36.

Harry has posted Charts of the Day video on at TheTSLA echTrader site noting: Tesla Motors, Inc. (TSLA) is acting very well. It had a special day on Wednesday, up 10 1/2, or 4.4%, on 9.2 million shares. More importantly, is that it took out the recent high at 244.49, and jumped up to 251.42, before pulling back to 248.93 on profit taking. Look for this stock to get into 265.00. That is the target on this one.

Harry has posted Charts of the Day video on BDSI at TheTechTrader site noting: BioDelivery Sciences International, Inc. (BDSI) looks like it’s bubbling under, ready to make another move perhaps. On Wednesday, it jumped a little, and is right up against the declining topsline where a nice little coil formed over the last month. It was up 39 cents, or 3%, on 818,000, which is not big volume, but if it breaks it will get it. Resistance is at about the 14.35-38 range. If it gets through that, look for a move up to 16, and then 18 1/2.

Harry has posted Charts of the Day video on TRAK at TheTechTrader site noting: Dealertrack Technologies, Inc. (TRAK), is one of our swing trades. I like the head-and-shoulders top, it rolled over, formed a bear flag, and looks like it’s headed lower still. The target is 30.

Harry has posted Charts of the Day video on TSRA at TheTechTrader site noting: Tessera Technologies Inc. (TSRA) exploded three days ago, pulled back, jumped again, and on Tuesday, it gapped and ran to new highs at 26.50, and closed there as well. It was up 85 cents, or 3.3%, on 1.2 million shares. That’s the best volume in three sessions, and the second best volume since March. This is an important breakout, not only out of the wedge, but out across key-overhead resistance. It has a massive rounding-type bottom base. The target for this one is 32.

Harry has posted Charts of the Day video on SNCR at TheTechTrader site noting: Synchronoss Technologies, Inc. (SNCR) had a breakout on Friday, it formed a pennant, and then broke out on Tuesday, up 1.81, or 4.5%, on nearly 750,000. That’s the second best volume in a month. Resistance at 41.98 was taken out. It looks like it’s headed for a test of 45 short-term, and then 48 intermediate-term.

Harry has posted Charts of the Day video on VDSI at TheTechTrader site noting: VASCO Data Security International (VDSI) is one of our swing trades that is doing great. On Monday, it was up 75 cents, or 5.6%, on 993,000 shares traded. It looks like it’s ready to roll. After popping near resistance, and coiling for a week and a half, it spiked up near the 14.40 range, which is resistance. If it gets through that, look for it to go all the way up to 17-17 1/2.

Harry has posted Charts of the Day video on TOUR at TheTechTrader site noting:Tuniu Corporation (TOUR), which we put a swing trade on Monday, is doing well, but I did prefer this stock in a pullback, and it closed at 22.80, up 2.06, or 10%, on nearly 900,000. Mid channel is about the 26-7 zone, which is the next target, followed by 30.

Harry has posted Charts of the Day video on ATHM at TheTechTrader site noting:Autohome Inc. (ATHM) did very well on Monday. It formed a basing pattern for the last three months, and then on Monday it broke out of it, up 3.90, or 10.3%, on 600,000 shares traded. That’s not a lot of volume, but it is a new issue going back to December. There’s a target up around 45 1/2-46 short-term.

  • thetechtraderca by thetechtraderca Aug 5, 2014 7:20 AM Flag

Harry has posted Charts of the Day video on ANET at TheTechTrader site noting:Arista Networks, Inc. (ANET) is a stock that I like a lot, and is very well thought off on Wall Street. It came from the 80 range back into the low 60’s, based out for two weeks, or so, and on Monday, it popped out, up 3.62, or 5.5%, which was excellent. It came out across the resistance line and the declining topsline. But the volume is still low. Look for it to head up toward the 72-3 zone short-term. If it gets through that, look for something up around 77, and then 80 again.

The IWM Finds Itself in a Compromised Technical Condition
by Mike Paulenoff, Fri August 1st, 2014

    Here we are again….

The iShares Russell 2000 (IWM) is pressing below its flattening 200-day EMA, now at 111.96, on the way to another test of critical multi-month support at 110-107, which must contain the selling pressure to avert a potentially serious intermediate-term break down that projects to the 93-90 area!

My sense from my intermediate- and longer-term work is that this downleg is “the real McCoy”, and that an inability of the IWM to recover and sustain above 112.20/.50 resistance in the upcoming hours will imbue the substantial top pattern with potential to suddenly and violently break down into a waterfall-type liquidation.

I don’t know what the catalyst might be, however, the pattern itself is warning me that the IWM is vulnerable to such a scenario.

Harry has posted Charts of the Day video on TRAK at TheTechTrader site noting: Dealertrack Technologies, Inc. (TRAK), which I recently put on my list, because of the way it looks with a broken channel, a head-and-shoulder massive pattern, and a down channel that has formed, It dropped 1.56, or 4%, on 2.5 million shares. It’s sitting on a line of resistance at 37.57, and if it breaks there, it could head down to 30-31.
