baderfakih Valuable information comes in different forms. It comes in information about the company, it's product and about the underlying stock. I have read these message boards long enough to easily see that there are a lot of neophytes in the stock market that are unaware of some of the very simple basics.
And when the see someone (semanresu) blatantly lying about something and are not corrected , don't you consider it valuable information to point out his lies ?
If he is not exposed on the spot, some rookies will interpret what he is saying is correct, and remain ignorant on the subject.
Like his claim that you buy a stock, that is shorting the stock, the same as actually shorting the stock.
So we should just let that fly ?
Fine with me, I'll butt out, but I can tell you for a fact there are a lot of people that use these message boards for their education about the stock market, I just think seman shouldn't be their teacher, it's not about bashing him, I just don't like liars.
I absolutely do not care if a person trades in and out, that's part of what the stock market is.
What I despise is......phonies who constantly change their opinion of the stock/company based on what side of the trade they are on at that moment.
And that total phony would be a semanresu, for one.
One minute (literally) he is giving everybody #$%$ telling them to drink the Kool Aid, and MINUTES later he's all Strong Buying now saying..........he wants, and is now drinking some of that Kool Aid, and then he's.............back to bashing everybody else, because once again he panicked out.
The guy is a phony pile of dung.
seman Says......"Salty, those big orders you see floating through are short sales."
Tell us more seman.
So orders on the bid side are.............shorting the stock ?
Gotta think about this one.
Don't we seman ?
Sorry I missed this part of your post....."Speaking of your Baker Brothers who recently got killed on their XOMA position, I bought the stock in the $1's and sold it in the $6's."
Good for you, but a lot of people found AQXP for ................$1.79.................and TWO DAYS later sold it for..............$55.75, and ALL the way up to $55.75 , in a matter of HOURS.........caused by the Baker Brothers.
Period, but I still don't think you get it !
And I also have or had a couple of stocks you NOW mention, but don't try and BS me that you "found" a stock for $1, and held on for $50.
We ALL find cheap stocks, BUT always look back and say.......I shoulda held on to that one.
I actually "found" and had ISRG for $13, but not smart enough to hang on until today's $527.
And there are many others, but that one still sticks in my brain loud and clear.
So we all find them, keeping them to fruition is a whole different story.
You consider telling you to GROW UP a threat ?
Thank you very much for proving my point.
And I won't try and make you GROW UP, you yourself have to achieve that one all by your very little self.
And I doubt there is a piece of you worthwhile that anybody would want.
It looks like you totally missed my point, which was that the stock went from $1.79 and in a couple of days later intraday high of $55.75, caused by the Baker Brothers.
Whether we care about the Baker Brothers portfolio or not makes no difference, the fact is that a ton of people do, and when the Baker Brothers get involved they feel that is a very bullish signal and pile on.
Didn't the Baker Brothers have a big position in EXEL ?
This was a beautiful short squeeze. On Aug 6 2015, AQXP closed at $1.79 on 129,100 shares.
The next day, Aug 7 AQXP traded 62,069,400 and closed at $10.42. That was Friday.
Monday morning Aug 10, The Baker Brothers filed a 13D announcing they acquired 39% of AQXP stock, and most of that was on Friday Aug 7.
I saw that news on my Schwab account, the reason I looked up AQXP on Schwab was because of the stock going across the tape in pre market already up about $6, and I looked on their message board and absolutely nobody was talking about the 13D filing.
Then about an hour later it was posted on Yahoo, the stock went for a high of $55.75, and closed at $18.98, on I think around 18 Million shares.
And all the stock they bought on the preceding Friday they bough in the $2 to $11 range.
Every trade, price and volume was listed in the 13D on Monday morning. And everybody on the message board was in a fog asking a bunch of stupid questions, when all they had to do was look in their brokerage account where the news about the 13D was, but later announced on Yahoo.
I never guessed the stock would get that wild, I thought it's already up in the open market about $8 now so I'm not touching this one.
Weren't the Baker Brothers interested in EXEL ?
AQXP on August 6, 2015 $1.79 close, Monday August 10, 2015 Hi of the day $55.75.
They kept halting trading on the stock, and as soon as they would resume trading about ten minutes later it would shoot up again.
Dang it, I could have made enough on that one to buy some new radials for my car, at least for the fronts anyhow.
Again, weren't the Baker Brothers interested in EXEL ?
seman Isn't long any more, that was only for less than an hour. He sold right after the earnings release. indicated by his "Ugh" post.
He doesn't know what the hell to say or do right now, he'll let us know where he is..........after the fact of where the stock price is......as usual.
If BS was music, seman would be a Brass Band.
Just a very lonely person that needs attention, negative or positive does not matter, just the attention is the important issue with him/her.
socialdioces.....You are a little confused, raising capital is in no way shape or form.......earnings.
Sales are revenue, and if you sell something at a profit that is earnings, but earnings come from selling a product, not selling more shares.
The only reason I'm commenting is because I see several of your messages saying you think raising capital, stock offerings etc. is earnings............it is definitely not earnings.
Dilutes what ?
If by chance there is a buyout the acquirer gets all assets..........including the raised capital.
mj Question for you, do you ever play poker ? If your answer is yes, who do you think is in the power position at the table, and has the biggest and best advantage, the player with a mountain of chips in front of him/her........or the player with minimal scared money ?
Maybe my opinion does not fit, but this is the way I think.
I see enabler replied to one of mine, when I tried to answer it would not let me because it looks like my original is missing ?
Anyhow to enabler, I can not divulge my real alias, it's an ancient Chinese secret.
Remember why you bought the stock to begin with, for the bigger picture, or for a nickel or dime quickie, Uncle Sammy loves it when you go for the quickie, then they get their 40% at the end of the year.
Don't sweat the daily fluctuations, if that is your temperament, put your money back in the shoebox, or under your mattress, or under a rock in your back yard......but not in the stock market.........and do NOT take financial advice from somebody like me, or anybody else on any message board.
Like your mommy told you not all that long ago.........stranger beware !
It's all spelled out pretty good.
They take out the stops, then the uptrend continues.
And you're standing on the sidelines wondering what just happened ?
It causes some others to panic, but with the weak holders gone, it makes for a stronger up move to continue.
Don't panic, this is perfectly normal.
I like this trade the best at 19:46 A Buy of 14,900 + 400 Shs. @ $6.73. The hi of $6.77 was at 18:28, but only 100 shs.
Go to the NASDAQ site to see these trades.
NASDAQ + you know what else, Yahoo won't let me post it.
