Are you in 3rd grade?
The Apple vacuum will be filled with negativity from the people who will measure its sales performance by the lousy stock performance and when ios7 goes live on Wed with bugs especially in the APs, expect a further major sell off. Tim Cool needs to be removed.
What would they be comparing it to? They didn't announce how many 4s orders were taken last year when that was demoted to the 2nd tier phone. And why are all of the media types incorrectly and apparently purposely trying to compare the 2nd tier order level of 5c phones to last years order level of the then 1st tier 5?
Don't let the shareholders know anything about phone orders or sales. They are lucky just to own the stock and funnel 100s of millions to the CEO and the bod.
Is the supply ramp up ahead of the launch. That is his strength and he's been slapped in the face the last two launches with an insufficient supply. Fool me once, twice, and a third strike and he's a moron. He may not be a tech guru or an innovator and may rely on others for that but he should have learned about preparing supply channels better ahead of this launch.
This is a confident statement from a supply guru. Perhaps he's confident because they have a good presupply of both phones ahead of this launch. That is what held them back the last two launches. We will see.
Apple sold 47.8M in oct-dec 2012 yet you're predicting 40M phones will be ready for sale in 23 days, a 300% increase in production levels above their best quarter ever. Best of luck with that.
Apple sold 47.8 M iPhones in Oct-Dec 2012 quarter but you're modeling up to 40M phones manufactured in 23 days, an almost 400% increase in production beyond their highest sales quarter ever. Good luck with that.
So you're expecting 30 million to 40 million phones produced and ready for launch this coming Friday? Ill revisit this message on Sept 23rd.
Might they be using some of their production capacity to generate Iphone 5S and the old 4s models? The earliest photo I could find of some 5c models being charged in mass was Aug 26th and there is another photo released on Sept 2 with phones already packaged in cases. So figure they started making the phones a day before the Aug 26th date, that means they would have had 7 days in Aug and 20 days in Sept to manufacture all of the phones for the launch. Let's knock off 4 days for shipping and you get 23 days worth of manufacturing or about 11.5M phones overall possibly available for launch. That's if they are not having any production issues with the 5s models.
But why are you comparing the original launch of the iphone 5 to the secondary launch of the iphone 5 at a $100 discount with plastic cases? The real comparison will be this coming weekend when the 5s goes on sale and then compare it to the 5 sales from 2012. As Cook said, they are going to break records.
So it has. I checked the Apple site and selected Hong Kong as my version and they do have a shipping delay. No delay in China though. Used a translation ap and you can see the date is "21" of September even if you cannot translate or read Chinese.
Where do you see that? I only see on the apple site that the 16gb sim free and the 32 gb on Att and sprint have delivery dates moved back. The other yellows are fully available including all at Verizon.
Did the same thing with the S4 but just returned it and paid a $25 restocking fee. Hope you did well on Craigslist.
Apple is doing preorders on the 5c because they want to get an early gauge on what colors are most and least popular and adjust production. There are 50 models of the 5c available. The 5s is the one that is the one that will break the records if they have enough supply. Comparing the 5c to the 5 launch is like comparing the sales of the demoted 4s when the 5 launched to the original launch of the 4s. Yes the 5c numbers matter but will be at least doubled if not tripled by the 5s launch. Supply "guru" Cook better not have dropped the ball on the 5s supply, but he did say one thing at the event last week which would make me think they have very good supplies. He said they will break records, and they wouldn't be able to do that if they have supply constraints for the launch of the 5s. Unless he meant they will break records on the delay in deliveries.
For their biggest market by far they announce the first time ever event in China and what is it? A video replay of the real event from 8 hours early. Thanks Tim for letting the Chinese sleep to watch the event on DVR. They feel so blessed by your fine decision making skills. Tim Cook is going to be written about in business textbooks and nothing good.
Since Cook agreed to have his bonus based on the stock performance....zero bonus for a negative return in 2013, fiscally or by the calendar.
