Not a fan of long term solar or wind investments. Long term is 5-10 years. There is a niche for them, but not the powerhouse needed to replace Fossil Fuels.
USU should go back to being private and be a long term LLC investment. The daily trader mucks have no interest in USA energy policy and have run stock prices like a video game. Not sure a 'stock' company can revert to private/LLC company but if it could might be a solution for funding and paying off debt. It would take investors with bigger kahunas to step up..but the potential is like no other investment. Oh yeah...and pay the shareholders $50/share for the buy out.
You know I am happy to see GE-Silex move into production. It would be a fantasy/dream for the USA to be the worlds low cost producer of LEU... for both USU and GE. The future for nuclear energy is excellent with these two processes and the 100+ reactors being built. I will stick with this stock for long haul investment. Problem with GE investment is that LEU is a drop in the bucket for them. Say Silex goes big time...likely no impact to GE shares. Silex in Australia might get big benefit but they are also mainly solar company where that side of the company is not doing well. The 7% kick back from GE-Hitachi to Silex might be meaningful, but not as much as ACP pop to USU stock. Certainly by the time ACP is build LEU will be $100 per SWU again and be very profitable. Interesting business.
Thanks Lewis. I know where 4b could be spent Jan 2014. Best engineers and scientist picked Yucca site for many logical reasons. But Reid and our boy Obama torpedoed it for politics. Leaving 100's of nuclear waste sites all around the USA for terrorists and natural disasters to cause contamination. Real genius. Anyway I vote for Reids back yard...and I literally mean HIS backyard. Detroit would be 2nd choice. Obama's backyard 3rd choice. BTW I am thankful for my electricity and clean air. Take Care.
How about we spend the $4b USA dollars on USU rather than enemies? Does that make to much sense?
Yes I did sell 1/3 of my stocks at ~$23 as they were falling back down. But I still own a few for nostalgia. Frankly rest will likely be a few years of tax write offs too. How many years can losses be carried over?
USU is back in the de-listing fold as the company market cap value is at $27m. Way below the $50m required. Again in the Penny Stock value of companies. If NO funding for ACP then this bad boy goes in the grave. BK and restructuring maybe, but current holders will get zip. So sad. Maybe they can make some dough on Russian SWU? Maybe they can lease some Russian centrifuges and stick them in the corner at Piketon? From conference call and 10-Q I have no idea what plan forward to make money is. Based on their feedback information the leadership's only plan is to close the doors and go home. Wow that is some American spirit. I've never seen such poor leadership vision/direction. So we are at an all time low and looks like there is no viable solution with current company. The board and company managers really screwed up a good thing. Best to all of your other investments. I'm riding her into the ground it is worthless now anyway.
Expect one more dip as some people cash out. Then off to the race track.
It is incredible that the only USA company making SWU is going belly up if not rescued by the taxpayers. Very sad. Heh Welch go read "The Goal". Then come back and run the company. The only goal is to make money. Go figure it out or get out of the way.
Neither have any nuclear energy background. One of the new board members had experience with restructuring broke companies. Great.
