I'm sorry I just can't see a "turnaround story" outperforming the general market if we enter a downtrend. And one of EA's problems was that they got too big! They made too many acquisitions. I just don't see them going after TTWO. But you are correct in saying that EA has to fix their quality control. Did you see that NBA game that they put out? They had 2 years to do it and they put out a pile of #$%$! Not that I mind, I'm a TTWO invest and want to see them have a near monopoly on the sport. The funny thing is, TTWO didn't have to buy exclusive rights to the NBA to own the category. They did it by publishing a quality game. Can't say the same about EA and the Madden franchise.
If you think that is the case why buy here? Seems like you'll be able to get better value for these stocks given an overall market decline.
It is quite possible that stores were using GTA as a loss leader meaning they just wanted to get people in the stores with that deal in hopes of selling more product on top of that. Happens all the time. And It's the store that takes the hit not TTWO.
I don't see how this is a negative. Obviously the only negative is is the Ichan name not being associated with the stock. Other then that how can you not be happy with the company buying back 16 million shares of stock? This seems like a positive to me.
The markets job is to inflict as much pain as possible on the most amount of people. That would explain the price action since the gta release. And I think its safe to say that we're carving out a nice bottom here to lift off of. The price action has been very positive with the bulls fending off the bears the last 2 trading days. I say we go higher from here as long as the market cooperates.
To put things in perspective TTWO is actually outperforming both EA and ATVI over the past month. I know it's not much but it certainly is something.
This is certainly a logical move for TTWO since they have all this cash flow from GTA. Lets put it too work!
With the launch of these new consoles, and the integration of Twitch imbedded inside them, this investment could really pay dividends. Obviously I don't know what the structure of the deal is but it could turn out to be a profitable one if all goes well.
TTWO has filed registration for 2 different websites that are both golf related. I have a website that verifies this but I can not list on here due to yahoo's stupid rules regarding website addresses. It is quite possible, says the article, that TTWO purchased the Links software from Microsoft in order for them to do their game.
That's a dumb idea. And there's NO WAY EA is going to capture 50% market share in the NBA. What we have to do is go after the NFL. I don't see any other way.
