In my view, negative China PMI news is already priced in, and the market will respond positively to additional efforts by the Chinese government to support economic stability and growth. If the PMI happens to be better than expected, even better for the markets. All said, it should be a "buy the news" event.
Arrogance blowing up in one's face?!?! No doubt, that is an area of extreme expertise for you, Chief!! Btw, heckuva screen name!!
Correct me if I'm wrong. This puts swks into another index and subjects swks to more index investors. Therefore, swks will be moved up and down in a way more in line with those indexes...much in the same way it moves with the ETF's it's in. The implication being that it will be less dependent on its own fundamentals and more on market sentiment which could reduce volatility.
I will put it this way...if I had to put all my marbles into one stock besides SWKS (all my marbles are here), it would be AAPL right now. An easy $150 by year-end, IMO.
I appreciate your thoughts, ddule. I tend to think, ultimately, SWKS gets acquired. So, I try to anticipate some possibilities.
Ok, SVS. Although, I think I read the expectation is the MU buyout will go through. Maybe I'm mistaken about that?
ddule...In your opinion, could Huawei be a possible buyer of SWKS? Ever since a Chinese firm made an offer for MU, I have been wondering if a Chinese firm may make a move for SWKS. Just thinking out loud.
It took me many times over the years selling the bottom and watching a stock bounce to finally understand the importance of going against the emotional grain as an investor. I, literally, will now buy when I am MOST #$%$ or concerned. It's not easy...kind of scary...but, man does it work when you are adding shares of a company with great growth ahead. I'm convinced that without experience doing the wrong thing, one can never learn to do it right.
I'm just not smart enough to time this son of a bych market, cheetah. So, I buy quality, and add on the dips. Keeping a long term view tends to be the best way to generate wealth.
Best of luck, though!! In the meantime, keep it in the short grass, my friend. 😀
It's only one day, and qrvo's earnings are fresh. But, SWKS and NXPI are getting most of the love today. Specifically, today is a big statement from the market that QRVO's issues are not shared by SWKS. I believe we will see this become a theme going forward. The time has come for SWKS to separate itself from the riff raff wannabe QRVO.
I generally like Zack's because their calls are well thought out. They have liked SWKS for a long time with a buy or strong buy rating most of the past couple years. Recently, they downgraded it to hold going into earnings...back to strong buy yesterday with a $110 near term pt.
Actually there have been no trades in NXPI since they announced at 8pm. Maybe NXPI will suffer a drubbing, but they haven't yet.

I make a nice living. But, the real money I have made has been in stocks over the past 18 years.
