Guess this means no stadium rental, no helicopter money...

Oh well, I'll settle for a little bit of ingenious use of leverage - nice move.

Works for me...not sure the shorts are gonna wanna wait that long to wiggle outa the half million shares they've got shorted though...the next earnings call could justify the mid 40's. It gets kinda squirrelly around here once in a while.

BUY AND HOLD - Just think of it as waiting for Santa!

View the webpage by messages, ie. click the "Messages" tab. Make sure you have "all" selected in the pulldown menu or it will only show the last three months worth of messages, and if someone responds to an old message you won't see it if you're viewing the page as "Topics" and the topic was more than 3 months old.

The poster I'm replying to is: thermo_bea (aka "figment" because he only exists in my head - he told me so.)

The post that fig is referring to occurred at a time when fig was pretending to be my friend and a Long shareholder of STMP. I knew he was full of it because I don't have any friends. He's a big short, and the big shorts are in trouble because the float is so tight, and people are fed up, I'd know - I've been here every step of the way.

This message board has boiled down to me and figment and the yahoos who censor me every once in a while when the chuckleheads (fig and his buddies) get tired of me making the case for a BUY AND HOLD strategy in order to counter the price control the shorts and the MMs have. This stock will sit for 15 - 30 minutes at times and not trade a share - I think it's kinda getting on the HFTs nerves just a bit. Not sure but it may have something to do with the 500K shares short - oh, boo hoo...

...but for some reason fig, you just keep coming back pleading your case. Go figure.

BUY AND HOLD - even though figment doesn't really exist - if he did - it would really eat his lunch.

Seems to me that marketing spend in Q4/13 was a bit soft leading to higher than expected EPS in Q4/13, but lower than expected revenue in Q1/14. Then in Q1/14 the marketing spend took a nice jump which led to the lower than expected EPS in Q1/14 - I think McBride said the increased marketing spend resulted in a $0.13/share effect on EPS in Q1. If the Q1 marketing spend creates new paid customers in Q2 like the ("soft") marketing spend in Q4/13 did in Q1 - all I can say is "spend more!"

In the meantime the company continues to generate a whole lot of cash from a whole lot of new paid customers. Bodes well for Q2 with the big jump in marketing spend in Q1.

Guess I'm stuck waiting a bit longer for the golden goose to start laying those big fat divy eggs, but it sure seems like finding the cash to pay them won't be a problem.

If you're an investor - you've been here before - so you don't need me telling you what to do.

I'll admit it - I am totally confounded when it comes to this debate. I've been having it with myself for years now. Growth or Value.

    Why do I own STMP?

Growth??? - 30%+ EPS growth over the last few years.

Value??? - One of ONLY THREE authorized and patented online resellers of USPS postage for letters AND PACKAGES, that has no debt, and generates tons of free cash flow, with a nasty history of handing back handfuls of cash to it's shareholders via Special (mostly tax free) Dividends coupled with share buybacks.

    I don't know - I'm stumped - totally bewildered - dilemmatized 100%.

But, I think I get it now - why fig and the boys short this thing like they do - they couldn't figure it out either...LIGHT BULB!!! yea - of course...all these years and it was right in front of me the whole time.

If a company has BOTH a VALUE and a GROWTH dynamic AT THE SAME TIME - short it - It just makes sense - how could I have not seen this - why didn't anyone say something...SHEESH - and after all of the time i've spent making friends in here - thanks alot....hmmph.

    TLOC

short and hold...(sounds a bit odd - but what the heck...seems to be all the rage - get some!)
