    Yikes - Almost to $22 - Pre Split $44

Love your posts. Keep psyching yourself out over a small accounting item. Am waiting until some more stockholders lose their hope, the stock plummets, & I can buy more.

Any time a new accounting firm comes in, they have to certify the new results. Don't know about you but if I were called in to evaluate someone else's work, I would make very very sure it was right before I took responsibility for the results. Only human nature. Just like it is human nature to psych yourself out over inconsequential items. You don't want to get caught on the wrong side of a problem.

The other thing to remember is that ADES management always wants to shorten how long the uncertainty is & downplay the problem. The new accountants will not give a timeline for resolution of the problem & won't comment on the magnitude of the problem. ADES management is interested in controlling situation. Accountants are just solving problems. Different agendas - Ergo uncertainty.

ADES will eventually start moving back into positive territory. Until then, I intend to wait & buy cheaper shares in hopes for eventual coming out party (solving of accounting problems). Don't claim to be "smart money" or anything else - just patient.

The time it takes just the time it takes. Been through several of these, it is slow & methodical process. Also through this process, other items are alway found, usually not large items but nevertheless they are unearthed. Always screws up management timeline alloted for these troubles.

Nice thing though is after this, there is a clean bill of health. Also usually takes about 60 -90 days to solve problem. Got to figure that accounting folks who screwed up the accounting did not just screw up in one area of business - it happened in all parts of business - so it will take awhile to straighten out. Look upon this time as an opportunity to acquire more.

Copper - any suggestions for direction

JFNH1, thank you. Just the info I needed. Kitco was just the place I needed to look. Think it is time to get out of SCCO while am ahead. Small profit is better than no profit.

Have been wondering about how true the figures are for Chinese economy also. This info will also let me sleep better on my business trip next week. Installing sculpture is strange enough, don't need other things intruding on my attention. Unfocused attention can lead to maimed hands, feet & other less desirable outcomes.

  • Bought SCCO while back. Read conflicting reports about copper going up or down. Any reliable source I can plug into that is not hysterical but at least factual?

    Reverse Split?

Agree that accounting issues are a real problem, but the problems are localized. Have had stocks that had real accounting problems & had to restate a couple of years income. they said the problems would be licked in 3 months, 12 months later they were still dithering with it & saying they would be done with problem in 6 months. This thing with ADES, from past experience, is nothing so far. If the price cracks $20 that will be a problem.

Been waiting for AKS for awhile. Does not seem to be steady demand.

Am getting more conservative in old age. Sold FSC & HTGC. Enjoyed owning both of them, made a decent profit on HTGC, decided to wait & see what happened with both of them. I will be looking at them again in about a month after the hullaballoo settles down about being removed from the Russell.

REITs got hit hard bad today and why?

Sold my HTGC yesterday & my FSC two days ago. Both were in the money for me but am not sure that they would stay that way with their being dropped from indexes.

Held onto my SCCO even though it dropped significantly today 6%. Still in the black there, think it is an overreaction.

    RIG is just too CHEAP

Am with you on RIG. Disagree slightly about being a $50 stock. Am thinking it is closer to a $65 stock. We still agree that it is worth more than it is currently selling for.

    Anybody Ever Check Out AT?

Wise, believe that AT fell because of gross mismanagement. Am looking at AT as well. It is breaking my rules to buy it since it is so low & only has so much upside. Can't say I am not sorely tempted.

Wise might want to look at Murphy Oil (MUR) & National Oilwell Varco NOV. Bought MUR recently. NOV made it to the finalist list his week for me to buy. Pepsi (PEP) beat out NOV today for wifes IRA.

Already bought RIG & SLB several weeks ago.

Sampson, I bought MAIN some years ago & sold it around $25 - about 2 years ago. Just could not understand what was pushing the stock price up.

Agree Wisej about asking wife. Have been asking wife what she wants in her IRA. Last year around Sept she said Kroger. Bought it, sold it this year - it had doubled. The only probem with that scenario is I do the grocery shopping at Walmart.

    Have a great week.
