Fascist no nothing loser!
You bleat about free speech & denigrate those who speak freely.
This board is for discussions about Corning; not cornhoooooooling which is obviously your preferred position behind a sheep...
It's a buy under $50.
Nice distribution with the new Japanese postal service point of sale network.
I love the business model & wonder why nobody else has managed to take market share away from AFL.
Seems like it would be an easy market to enter & their policy risk is a lot more tame & predictable than a P & C or healthcare firm.
They've spent heavily on ads in the US for quite some time & still have around 90% of revs coming from Japan (what's up with that?)
I'm long from last years sub $40 & will hold as long as the fundies look good.
PBR is a loser.
I work for a service company in Brasil & have seen PBR in action (or rather NOT in action.)
Wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot bottle of Cachaça...
If you want to invest in a state owned energy company try Statoil.
A ton less corruption & the company actually knows what they're doing in the field.
I wish it would so I could LOAD UP!
Added to my pos sub $40 & wish I'd stolen more for my 10 year horizon...
I do; however, agree about getting rid of congress.
In the words of the great Gallager:
"If progress means to move forward; what does congress mean?"
They're listed at the bottom of press release & their website says they offer "Business communications advisory for life science, healthcare & wellness"
Their site says in addition to investor communications they offer:
"Experience and expertise to successfully navigate complex financial markets and the competitive business landscape."
- Financial Strategy
- M&A Advisory
- Corporate Development
If they advised them on last years secondary offering then I want to thank them heartily for pricing the offering below market value (the shares were above $6 when the offering went out at $5.)
Only 2 names listed on their team: Stephanie Diaz & Tim Brons (are they negotiating with Alere or is Larry?)
Their website hasn't been updated since 2012 (according to the credits at the bottom of the site.)
Maybe a small thing but I would think attention to detail would be important for them.
Market price predictions are about as reliable as roulette.
Long term revenue & biz value predictions are what I want (bull & bear...)
That being said; I hope you're right so I can gorge myself on ESRX!
Jan 18 $60 Puts had 177 contracts traded wight he quickness at $0.05 this morning when the stock was down $0.35 & then the stock ticked up $0.60 & the same put increased a nickel (huh?)
Then someone grabbed another 31 contracts.
Boy I hope they get assigned (I'll back up the truck sub $60) & I'll bet whoever went short hopes they get assigned too!
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Meridian Bioscience (VIVO) would make a good CEMI owner.
Look at the "Market Focus" page on their website.
VIVO’s CEO states that acquisitions will be made when they fit the company’s operations.
They have around $44M in cash & $0 debt & have only made 1 significant acquisition for $23.3M in 2010 of a company called Bioline which is a large-volume producer of nucleotides, DNA polymerase enzymes and other core reagents for molecular biology which are the critical components used in PCR testing for DNA, RNA and other genomic testing.
Bioline had revenues of $12M & the acquisition was slightly accretive to earnings.
I think CEMI management should give Alere the cold shoulder & focus on WHO & it’s Brasilian & Latin American partners.
Success will attract an acquisitive company & if they come inquiring then you are in the drivers seat.
If DPP is important to Alere then they’ll change tactics just like a girl who acted like she was going to dump you but you gave her the boot 1st (now she’s all over you…)
As to FioCruz; they appear to be aggressively marketing the DPP platform (they would since they bought into it) & I await a response to an email I sent as to the effectiveness of the campaign.
Orangelife has not responded to my email but Dr Collovati has a cool picture with past president Lula so maybe he’s got some stroke & can move some DPP.
Quem sabe; it’s an interesting product but I won’t make a larger investment until I understand this industry better (too many ifs’…)
P.S. Not rumor mongering here; just hare-brain storming (in case CEMI mgmt reads this forum.)
Your ability to research & comment on businesses would be welcome but your random bleating's simply reinforce your ignorance of all things except sophistry.
Your only desire is to poke into anthills & gleefully watch as more industrious individuals reconstruct the mound (and you're not even smart enough to take advantage of their work.)
You are the only one who thinks that you are intelligent.
Your end truly is near your mouth...
Wrong again boyo...
I am who I am & have no other aliases.
Google tunawish & you'll see where I live on the net.
You are correct about one thing; nobody cares what YOU think (d0ucheb@g)
Labtest lists a number of affiliated Brasilian companies.
Many of these companies show Labtest & Alere products (in addition to others companies like Abbott, BD, etc.)
EnziPharma in Rio de Janeiro lists only one product by Alere (the InRatio anticoagulence test) & they list SurePath but I don't find DPP on their website (sent an email inquiry.)
I looked briefly at the 2 Sao Paolo distributors (CenterKit & CenterLab which have various locations around the country) & they all appear to receive visits from sales reps at Abbott, BD, Alere & others...
It looks like CEMI has chosen well with Labtest as they appear to be in good company with the aforementioned multi nationals.
Does anyone at CEMI speak Portuguese?
Personally; I think Alere is a lousy prospect to purchase CEMI.
Abbott spent slight over $1.2B in 2012 on acquisitions.
Abbott offers the following HIV test (I have no idea if CEMI products would add value to ABT offerings):
The ARCHITECT HIV Ag/Ab Combo assay is a chemiluminescent microparticle immunoassay (CMIA) for the simultaneous qualitative detection of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) p24 antigen and antibodies to HIV type 1 (HIV-1 group M and group O) and/or type 2 (HIV-2) in human serum and plasma (EDTA and heparin). The ARCHITECT HIV Ag/Ab Combo assay is intended to be used as an aid in the diagnosis of HIV-1/HIV-2 infection, including acute or primary HIV-1 infection. The assay may also be used as an aid in the diagnosis of HIV-1/HIV-2 infection in pediatric subjects (i.e., children as young as two years of age) and in pregnant women.
Hey Big Guy; I for one, would welcome another year of bouncing off the bottom.
I've been able to average into a nice pos here by selling puts.
Accumulate shares as assigned & create a divvie with the options that expire worthless.
Just got to pick the strikes right (lots of volatility here!)
Management is not operating for short term stock price performance,
Instead (IMO) they are managing for fundamental results over the next decade.
Be greedy when others are fearful...
My previous posts show why I believe in these guys.
Thoughtful bear cases are welcome (but I don't think I'll see anything except random negative ramblings...)
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Labtest isn't listed on CEMI's website as a vendor but I do see one test being offered from their website (in addition to a ton of other reagents & equipment.)
There office is in Mina Gerais (long distance so I shot them an email) it appears that they have offices around Latin America & the Philipines (but not Thailand - odd...)
I went to the Orangelife Industria E Comercio website & nosed around.
Sent an email to Dr. Marco Collovati introducing myself but it's New Years & nobody is doing anything here.
It looks to me like the DPP product is only a tiny portion of most distributors offerings.
I went long CEMI as a spec about a year ago because it looked like something which might be acquired & integrated into a larger operation (could David take over a Goliath & become more than just a 2 or 3 trick pony?)
Does DPP have other applications which can be commercialized?
It seems CEMI is at the mercy of larger sales organizations who they depend on to distribute their product (not news to anyone here...)
Brasil is a very difficult country to operate in (I hope CEMI doesn't extend credit terms...)
If you'd like me to ask anyone (Ministry of Health, FioCruz, etc.) some specific questions; write them here (I speak very good Portuguese & can try to learn whatever you need in order to complete the puzzle.)
I'm simply not knowledgable enough in this field to formulate questions other than the obvious como "Vc vai comprar mais testes pelo Chembio?"
