Parsing the Starbucks/Google/Level 3 WiFi Deal...

One final point is that goog is leasing fo circuits from lvlt. But here's the key fo circuits are going up and traffic and demand is increasing which is just one more very very bullish trend for companies that actually own the fiber circuits.

Great post CG! Gotta love the board's welfare recipients here robber,gw,mr.fib, etc. These losers have been relentlessly bashing co. 24/7 for years. Apparently nothing better to do with their time except wait by their mailbox for assistance checks.

Meanwhile, all lvlt has done has increased share price by 150% since Jan. 2013. IMO, lvlt pps could reach the 200+% benchmark by end of 2015 and I would not be surprised to see $1-200/sh within 5 years. There is a lot of room for this stock until lvlt reaches fair value for their huge cap. investments in it's state of the art worldwide fiber optic network. The replacement cost for the lvlt network is astronomic. My estimate is the original investment is 30+ bil. and could be double or triple that to build today. Plus, as your post highlights cg, lvlt/goog are in the eye of the storm for planet earth - the worldwide adoption of the internet for social networking, video broadcast, shopping, information, entertainment, etc. If there are better sweet spots in the world economy today they are precious and few.

Also, while these board miscreants mindlessly bash and bash, more blue chip enterprises are signing up to purchase lvlt network products and services, Mason Hawkins value portfolio keeps adding and adding more shares, you have the Asian partner STT as lvlt grows with Pacific economies, and lvlt has finally grown revs into their debt and is becoming a cash cow, plus no income taxes as far as the eye can see from the billions in nols created by their huge cap investments...

The Starbucks news is just one more example of many many lvlt wins with many more to follow. I'm long strong and holding my shares for a long time to come. Are divi's coming? Are more accretive acquisitions coming? Will lvlt be acquired? Can't wait for the twtc earnings and synergies to show up. There are a lot more positive shoes to drop w/ this story. For me, this one is set it and forget it.

IMO, there likely is serious value in the $300+ mil. in NOLs (unless $50-70 mil. is not serious money anymore). There are limitations such as ownership changes (is acquisition a merger, reverse merger, buyout, etc. and does it meet the irs rules for protecting the NOLs) and the type of company (is newco in same business as oldco). So, the NOLs do have market value and we have seen NOLs preserved many times on wall street. My rule of thumb in terms of asset value is take 1/3 times the total allowed and protected NOLs (hypothetically $300mil. X 1/3= 100mil.) then discount that number by 30-40-50% (100mil. X .60 = $60mil.) give or take. We are assuming the $300 mil. are allowable and protected NOLs which may or may not be the case. I am not a tax adviser so seek your own counsel but I am aware of several distress situations where the NOLs were the primary negotiable asset.

Agreed and would not totally rule out fda at this point even though eu is more likely than usa.

The wording is tricky. the statement was not clear as in the futility was determined "futile". Rather the futility boundary was crossed. I believe in these circumstances companies must rush any and all info to meet disclosure requirements above all else including momentary stock prices When it comes to bios any sniff of info both good and bad can be seismic. It is not time to put a fork in er, in fact it may be much farther away than the stock price is suggesting even if statistical signifigance is not reached - i.e. dac in this very same disease.

  • Seamless is far from over and life was right about interim dsmb was a binary event for stock price. The basher cabal - icedumpster valuedumminess etc etc - is slymeing 24/7 harder than ever. Do ur own dil.

And something doesn't smell quite right. Survival curves are poorly estimated and data is not mature. Who knows there are so many scenarios good and bad. Will not concede credibility now or ever to those here that were never credible and will simply await events and truth to unfold. Further, will not eliminate possibility of more surprises and binary events.

Many will sell according to their own circumstances. Honestly, if dsmb and cycc abandoned study I would seriously consider selling too. Each investor must decide. Seen way too many bios fly up and down drastically on premature info.

    When LVLT Robber shuts up

I know right. Should we take up a collection for those poor losers?

  • toowan12 toowan12 Nov 14, 2014 6:43 AM Flag

Remember the ice-dummie is a paid tool. He is doing his best to be nice right now because his masters ordered him to be nice about CYCC, CYCC management, & CYCC products. However, every once in a while he still needs to throw out a bash or two. I've forgotten now if he works out of the boiler room in jersey city ot hoboken but they've both been unionized now. Also, I believe he was in the running for the heralded Pinnochio Award which is the professional basher industry's highest award. In other words - pay no attention to ice for brains.
    Good luck to all longs!!

  • toowan12 toowan12 Nov 10, 2014 1:58 PM Flag

Who is Mason Hawkins? One of LVLT's largest shareholders. He manages over $34 Billion in his funds Longleaf and Southeastern. He calls LVLT a core holding. Also, LVLT is the largest or one of the top 3 largest holdings held by Mason's funds.

    Is the cat out...

  • Oh my goodness. Of all the network companies out there GOOG chooses the LVLT network. Wonder if this indicates many many more major enterprise contract wins on the horizon for LVLT? Oh my goodness. LVLT longs only need to know one word - ENTERPRISE.

  • We will not know for sure until the other shoe(s) drop. US partnership or secondary announcement and the troubled souls from the boiler room will be magically happy and noticeably less active and angry. It's the standard deal paid for and scripted.

gw & robber really are a psych study beyond compare. I understand that they are the first two cases of PCD (Post Clueless Disorder)!

  • toowan12 toowan12 Nov 4, 2014 5:03 PM Flag

One other point bobbles. Please find below clear examples of a basher campaign (straight from the Boiler Room Playbook).

Chapter One: Inventing fearful rhetoric against company and product. They bash the drug and completely ignore the excellent 50 million partnership based solely on the likelihood of the drug passing through Phase 3. Why would any pharma pay millions if they thought the trial would not pass or was as risky as the bashers here claim and misrepresent. Listening to the unwashed aliases here one would think we should defy our critical thinking and rely on a handful of anonymous aliases with no credentials and no money invested (ah, but they will claim there are longs but what long would bash his investment 24/7 in such proactive fashion).

It's just so utterly transparent. There's one dummee below claims she had me on ignore and then bashes away. It's like politicians - how do we know they're lying well their mouths are moving of course.

Do your own due diligence and be wary of believing anonymous aliases with clear agendas. For me I will believe a 50 million + investment over a bunch of message board yo yo's. Go PTN! Go Brem!!!
