great post , still on top of your game . forget the share price we are in the homestretch the cash is running down . Odds are this quarter will be bad news and more losses.
Everyday almost there is news on batteries . Yesterday in fact it was lithium batteries with a carbon coating that made them store about 4x the present amount. So I agree building a factory for something that doesn't exist might not be that bright.
Now you can't get 3.80 ! The way things are looking you will be sucking wind trying to sell for $3.00 soon.
Whats to look forward too ? Well Rory says don't count on us to do terrific this quarter .
Translation from amdesic language we will most certainly lose money again.
STALL AND STARVE !
Why would they talk to amd ? What does amd have that rockchip doesn't ? And you mentioned Qualicomm the biggest chip co. they too don't need to talk to a money loser. Intel will shake up the whole tablet industry. I just bought a new venue 8 with the z3780 chip its lightning about as responsive as a desktop..
Oh you like pain ! Well you came to the right place.
Its going below 3.00 for sure.
I think AMD is out of time . In fact after all this time and lots of plans whats working ?
Houdini couldn't get out of this debt trap with the clock running and the competitors light years ahead .
Rory no doubt will be RORY THE LAST !
" INTEL THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE "
They are weaker financially, all the baloney news well as you know nothing happened at the end was a sizable loss. Buying now might be smart on some stocks if you thought a good quarter was coming but WHAT WILL AMD BE SELLING ? Some were saying amd has lots of design wins well lets see the machines in the store first with amd chips inside. The machines are normally boring as mostly cheapies where amd chips reside in most cases. No next quarter doesn't show a lot of hope . Again amd might try to make a lousy .02 cents and lose .05 cents instead. A nice loss next quarter will really cripple it .
even 2.50 is risky , very risky.
AMD is a leader in not being able to make real money. Its financial weakness combined with the changed computer market and its almost non event participation in chips for cellphones and tablets and the fall of the PC business makes it DEAD MEAT .
Still haven't gotten over my disappointment in Ashraf . He fades out on himself a few days before amd earnings . He must have thought how can 5 guys or more from SA be wrong with all this pumping ?
He nailed it Ashraf did until he lost his confidence in all the commonsense reasons he had posted why AMD was in trouble.
I have burnt my pic of Ashraf in a superman suit and the other with him dressed as Einstein .
I AM SO SAD !!
Its open season on AMD . Since there is lots of chip competition now Intel can finish the job of finishing AMD without gov't comeback. The exclusive x86 will now be amd's death as its only amd against intel.
What happened to amd in servers in now going to happen to low end computers where amd makes most of its money. I think this is the final goodbye for amd.
what company is afraid to lose management that loses money ?
Rory has been there long enough results , more debt , less property , and a huge fall behind as technology moved to new forms and amd stood there planning to make chips for custom purposes like garage doors. It can only get worse as tablets , phones and I think the small amount of server business will disappear. Intel will take most of the lower priced pc business with their new chips coming this fall. Does amd have 3 quarters left is what I think investors should be asking themselves.
The author loves non gaap earnings it seems.
He had no confidence in himself . He was ashamed to maybe be wrong while he had all the facts he was correct. Great people are not afraid to make mistakes. He is off my hero list.
In regard to AMD, the company went in the complete opposite direction of Intel. In the second quarter, its PC and server segment saw a 20% year-over-year decline. Notably, Intel saw 6% growth in this segment. Thankfully for AMD, it also benefits from graphics and visual solutions, a segment that grew 141% due to the continued success of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 gaming consoles.
