I have friends who only use TWTR, friends who only use FB and friends use both. 60% of my friends use FB, 5% or less use TWTR, and only about 2% use both. The ones who are high-heeled and would click on the ads and ended up buying stuffs are the ones only use FB, I am not a big fan of FB but it seems like the TWTR followers are mostly celebrity chaser and use TWTR as an alternative to Google search when they cannot find useful information on google like myself, they would never stay on TWTR long enough to click on ads. Just my two cents. Good luck everyone.
But they cannot lie about the revenue and profit ( if there is any ), they can guide very high, giving out good estimate of user growth, etc, but the number does not lie, unless they are willing to risk cook the book which I don't think so, Wall Street will be looking at the real numbers, not just the management's promises and predictions. We'll see. It feels like a classic text book pump and dump game.
The reason both LNKD and FB shot up a lot after last ER is because they beat both top line and bottom line and beat big and then guide higher. Do you think TWTR can do that? Why they kept saying the shorts will cover before earning, maybe they wanted to hold after earning to lock in more profit? I know the catalyst is that they are going to roll out the digital ads, but why it is a good news, if they do not roll out the digital ads, don't you think the stock should be trade at zero? I shorted very little at $70 and debating when to take the profit.
