Ride The E- Payments 'Buyout Boom' For A Potential
I think just Consolidating after the great earnings run up. Earnings were great and Carl was excited to be able to announce new acquirers in the coming quarters so go forward sounds great too.
Because of what they have coming in and the buzz in the industry about a potential acquisition/expansion. They do not have decent competition... I have personally vetted all companies that provide the same solutions as Planet.... no comparison... there is one that is close but weak in the US and no sales force here. Planet is the US Leader
I held my breath and picked up another 2k at $2.10. ... I'm with you on annoyed but keep telling myself it's a buying opportunity... volume has been low, this was a major vaca week... here's to good earnings...fingers crossed
In addition to DCC keep in mind that shop in your currency online known in the industry as MCP is critical to all processors right now. Planet's partnership with Cielo ahead of the World Cup will drive a lot of revenue going forward. For example Cielo acquired Merchant e-solutions in the US. This processor focused on ecomm merchant processing and they are also aggressively expanding across all verticals not just ecomm anymore. Merchant E's differentiator when selling is their intl. processing. It's all about international capabilities for processors now and while consumers all over the world are shopping online MCP is critical for merchants to offer so consumers can pay in their currency- it's expected by consumers and processors are scrambling to offer it ASAP. Planet's international processing platform, MCP and DCC are in my opinion poised perfectly for acquisition right now but even without an acquisition there is no doubt that their revenues are about to blast off with their new customers, partnerships and integrations. It's the $6 for minimum of 30 days by May 2015 requirement for Carl's options that I continue to hold looking toward the near term.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
I'm on the payment processor side of the business. DCC is a very, very hot product and has been growing steadily for the past 10 or 12 years in the US (has been a staple in Europe for more than 25 years). Retailers love the additional revenue stream and consumers want to pay in their own local currency. Whether big box, specialty retail, airline, car rental etc the ROI is fantastic and provides a service that consumers with foreign based credit cards (more than you would think) want and are now expecting in the US. Planet has Vantiv, TSYS, Global Payments, Moneris and many more as customers for DCC. In fact, I don't think Moneris is live yet but they will be offering it.
There are few competitors in the space, I believe that none are US based interestingly... the competitions solutions and reporting capabilities are weak in comparison to Planet.
The volume has been low lately. I'm looking forward to earnings, Carl knows what he needs to do and I'm looking forward to the call.
There is no way PLPM's share price should be in the 2's or even $3's based on fundamentals and their growing impressive customer base. Everyone should realize what Carl's mission is. I feel like I want to go into PR for PLPM. It's a ridiculous buy at these levels and that's why I continue to add- I believe this could be a triple or quadruple in the very near term.
As mentioned I'm in the payments industry, know the company well, the high demand for their solutions and the many acquisitions going on across the industry as every company is 100% focused on expanding international processing capabilities, DCC and MCP right now so I know first hand that the time is now and riper than ever.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
According to your post he sold less than half with a very nice profit - still holds 12,700 which are up 10 percent. Don't mislead
A thought just occurred to me while I hit my head against the wall on the options Carl has to successfully drive the share price to $6 plus in such a short period of time which I'm convinced he'll accomplish. NOW could also be the perfect time for PLPM to do the re-ipo that was initially planned for 2011/2012... The company is doing better than ever. International processing, MCP and DCC are the HOT solutions right now across the payments industry. IPO's are doing amazingly well. At that time a research company valued Planet at $8+ and that was prior to where they are now. They are moving off of AIM (maybe a hint at acquisition or re-ipo?)... Carl signed up for a reason. One other thought... Visa could also potentially acquire Planet... They already partner with them. Thoughts?
This is the stock that we will all wake up one day to a major pop (at this point nearly 200% to achieve the $6 that Carl needs to achieve by May) when an acquisition is announced so I hold. I keep accumulating on these drops and expect/hope it to be the last drop this low. PLPM should do well this qtr and great for the year. There's only been good news announced since Carl took over... Carl's job is to move this share price north. and I believe he knows what he needs to do. Being in the industry and seeing what's going on with international is enough for me to know they are prime right now to be acquired. To your point though.... July was really, really frustrating to experience as a shareholder... Here's to August
Remember that Carl Williams only gets his 200,000 options if PLPM goes to $6 and stays there for a minimum of 30 days prior to May '15. PLPM WILL go to $6 and likely beyond with a buyout. PLPM raised estimates which is a great sign. Carl knows what needs to be done and will achieve it. Take that to the bank.
