if you want a general idea of the discount of the common.. just go look at the prefs.. the yields are edging to 9.5%.. do you think the market thinks the stock is less risky than the pref? so what yield do you think the common will be priced at? not 9.5% that is for sure.
The Fed increase is going to be a headwind, and it will impact BV and probably revenue. how much? who knows. which is the entire sector has been discounting since the end of QE.. no different than oil stocks following the oil markets. RAS doing this while the sector and stock is being discounted was not smart. What they raised cash for 2 qtrs of dividends?
The good news is that China's actions seemed to have impacted the view on the rate increase.. This stock and the sector will go up.
Just follow the 10 year treasury.. now that the dilution is priced in, this should follow it pretty closely. The next Div announcement is the next time RAS can jerk stockholders around. But right, there is so much risk because who knows what management will do.
no 82 million is no the right number.. tho thanks for all the time you took to type up this nonsense. explains why your numbers never make sense. you randomly pick your data.
Cool you finally agree it is the company destroying the BV and share price and not some conspiracy of market traders shorting the stock.. Boy that took a couple hundred postings, but we got there. wheew
not sure what arbitrage you are talking about... hold the security is not an arbitrage.. what is your offset?
Oh you are not are arbitraging the risk, just trading.. NLY I have held for a long time, hedging with credit calendar spreads on the calls. can't really do that with RAS. rarely do the options offer the opportunity to hedge anything with this.
see this is a great topic.. how do you arbitrage this stock.. because the thin trading makes it difficult, probably for most on this board.. Like NLY you can, heck even get the div for free, but RAS is tough. so what are you using?
make sure you get your free goodie bag from RAS first.. for all the money they cost you. you should at least get a coffee mug..
funny I made this same point a week ago about the market cap.. the trading in this is so thin you really can't say traders have anything to do with the price.
The markets are pretty good at adjusting to investing and trading trends.. eventually any patterns or trends get arbitraged out of the market over time.
actually if that were true shareholder equity and bv would have benefited. but you can chart that as well, that is bloody..
years ago, and the reason why is that they are so perfectly wrong about the recommendations that you make a great return taking the other side of the trade.
