The 19.95 sale probably was an "at the market" sale during the 1000 point dow drop. ie somebody wanted out quickly; at any price, in an instant. Thus the price had to drop radically until enough "low ball cherry pickers :) " had their orders filled.
Where is the " 'IN TWO YEARS"part of the quote? Oh you left if off on your last zillion posts
If one looks back before July 27 2014 the barrel price chart does not show our current slump. Thus how could anybody know that oil would go below 50?
Last week saw some house plans for a McMansion with a mess of useless attic so the house looks bigger. The top section had a 29/12 pitch in the top part and some other had 26/12 and 24/12 pitches. The smallest pitch was 16/12
Here I have bought / nibbled at shares as it has dropped the last month and "been wrong" as to where the bottom is. Anybody can be an expert by looking back at history. The commodity markets across the board have taken a hit
Calling a bottom is impossible since one has irrational humans in the loop. There is a "herd instinct" too in pricing of "stuff" we humans buy or sell. Back in 2012 after the election I bought alot at a low. By chance an insider bought arlp the next day and the stock then went higher and the stock never went again that low for months and years.
The pickle is are folks selling because the earnings are going to be flat or way less, or sell because the fund cannot hold coal anymore, or both. The big funds in say California retirement etc want to dump all coal stocks they own
The earnings results for Q2 are to be announced I think next Tuesday am.
A low bid often works. I did the "It will be in the 22-23 area in a few weeks -Then I am buying ALOT" but had it as say 25 bids. Thus if you buy say Friday at 23 and Tuesdays conference call is weak the Price might crater to 20 to 21, ie we both bought too early.
Calling a bottom is often a wild guess. In SDRL some message board folks last December were saying they will buy at 6 or 7, and the lowest it went too was 8.58. The Conference call is July 28th at 9am for ARLP, wonder if that will boost or sink the stock more?
A general funk sinks all stocks in the same industry. SUN a MLP that distributes gasoline under the Sunoco brand has hit new 52 week lows and each quarter the payout is higher.
AHGP) will report their second quarter 2015 financial results before the market opens on Tuesday, July 28, 2015. Alliance management will discuss quarterly results during a conference call beginning at 9:00 a.m. Eastern that same day.
