The Greenies have powerful friends who despise coal for political reasons. The climate change argument is a red herring - ANY climate conditions can be pointed to by the Greenies and argued that it is the fault of CO2 and evil coal. The underlying attack is not a scientific argument, but a political one.
Uptab, I think you may be underestimating the power of the Greenies. They have powerful (for the moment) friends in high places.
No one will be safe on this planet until every last molecule of CO2, and every last atom of Nitrogen, are removed from the atmosphere and buried deeply underground!
I need some humor today.
Extraction of natural gas results in the release of methane. Natural gas may be in the process of being setup by the Greenies for the same treatment as coal.
A year ago, when it looked like Romney might win, the price of ACI was around $8. What a difference an election makes, eh?
Ya never know - maybe it will cause the company to come up on somebody's radar as a potential takeover candidate. Someone could probably purchase the whole operation for $0.55 per share.
BAM will likely foreclose and sell the property, thereby doubling their investment. Common shareholders will be left holding the bag.
German Greenies are nuts. The German people, as a whole, are level-headed and will certainly not buy into the anti-CO2 hysteria of the Greenies. There is no historical precedent for the German people buying into irrational hysteria - ... uh... right?
The "Big Guys" always know more than you. It's simply a matter of rolling the dice as to whether you happen to be trading in the same direction as the "Big Guys."
PAL does not want to avoid bankruptcy. PAL WANTS to go into bankruptcy so that the debt holders will take control of a valuable property that they can sell at a profit.
Yes, shareholders of common stock stand at the end of the line when it comes to bankruptcy. BAM holds the senior debt of PAL and stands at the front of the line. BAM will assure that PAL does not get funding to continue operations, and will therefore take ownership of the property. BAM will then sell it for a major profit.
This is a fairly high concentration, and therefore, the path to profitability is simple and direct: PULL MORE OF THE STUFF OUT OF THE GROUND!!!!!!
