Thank you. I do feel free to leave...or to stay, if I'm so inclined. Not that it is any of your business, but what I'm doing here is mostly just watching the crazy parade. It's the same reason that I flip through channels on the tv. Just looking for entertainment. Although I am 21,000 shares long on JCP, I don't look at message boards for advice. That said, the tone of the comments can sometimes help serve as a barometer for current sentiment, but since I'm an investor (not a trader), current sentiment doesn't help much either. I hope that answers your question as to why I'm here. BTW, I couldn't care less as to why you are here.
You guys seriously need a hobby. It is sad that your lives seem to be lived mostly on these message boards. BTW, nothing that is said on these boards is of any consequence to me, so fire away if it makes you happy.
I have neither the time nor inclination to school you in the proper use of a stop loss other than to say this... Using stop losses in a volatile sector is almost a 100 % sure way to lose money. With the wildly compressed fluctuations in pps, you could start out a day with a non-tight stop loss and have it sold by mid-day, only to close higher than the opening price that you were happy with. Stop losses are perfect for some stocks, just not this one or ones like it.
