You are correct. The Safeway in my town looks very dated, bad lighting,
and just dirty. The employees are polite, but the place is light years
behind the competition.
Go read the archives Bob. There were fatalities in the street. How long have you
worked in the LUV pr department Bob?
You can't blame this on ATC. Even a student pilot should be able to find the right
airport. Imho this comes from a culture of taking shortcuts -- taxing too fast, switching to
a VFR arrival from an IFR approach, etc, etc. --- all designed to shortcut the process and save a
Here you go Bob. 1 child dead, 12 injured.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southwest_Airlines_Flight_1248
As I recall there were fatalities at MDW when a LUV flight ended up in the middle of
the street -- Cicero Avenue I believe it was.
Just for the record Bob -- Branson tower is staffed 24/7. There is an 8000 foot runway, and a 7000 foot runway, two ILS approaches, a couple of VOR approaches, four GPS approaches, high
intensity strobe type landing aids, and none of the above at that other airport.
Why do LUV pilots have so much trouble actually landing the plane? MDW, BUR, LGA and now
Branson. How many more mistakes before a full load of folks are actually killed?
Simply not true. Regardless of conditions most airline travel concludes with
an IFR approach. Just ask a pilot --- errr....you just did.
